Does Isaiah 53:2 talk about Jesus Christ?

"He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him."

I've seen people argue that this verse is referring to Jesus. Others say it doesn't. If you ask me, I think it does refer to Jesus. His outward appearance didn't look good, he was desired. To me, Jesus was the most beautiful person that ever walked this earth. Unlike us, He was the only one that was perfect. He was and still is beautiful. What are your thoughts?

Hello Morgan!

Nice to see you again.

I always thought the verse was talking about our Creator . I will have to look at the verse again and get back with you.

I think he was a very plain man because he could make his exit in a crowd and not stand out.

Can you imagine Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt or Elvis trying to blend in? Not without great disguises man!

Yes, the verse is about Jesus.

The context provides so many accurate and amazing details about Jesus that certain stiff-necked hard hearted Jews, who hate Jesus, refuse to read that passage publicly.

These Jews sadly refuse to read the “forbidden chapter” of Isaiah 53.

Funny thing how the passage was read and interpreted correctly by Jews until the time after Jesus then suddenly new “interpretations” emerged!

But thank God for the many believing “remnant” of our Jewish brothers and sisters who love Jesus and see Him in the Isaiah 53

**THE WONDERFUL NAMES OF JESUS CHRIST**!!

Jesus in English is Yeshua or Joshua in Hebrew and means **GOD IS HELP**!! Joshua in Hebrew is phonetically pronounced "YESHUA" since the "J" in Hebrew is pronounced "YEH". “Christ” comes from the Greek word "Christos", meaning “Anointed One” or “Chosen One.” This is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Masheach, or “Messiah.” Jesus the Messiah in Hebrew is pronounced **YESHUA HA MASHEACH**

Matthew 1:21-23: The angel of the Lord said, " She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name **JESUS** {Which means **GOD IS HELP**}, because He will save His people from their sins." All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said {In Isaiah 7:14 below} through the prophet: "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son and they will all Him **IMMANUEL** which means **GOD WITH US**!"

Luke 2:9,10: An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them. The angel said, "I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a **SAVIOR** has been born to you; He is the **MESSIAH**, the **LORD**!"

Isaiah 7:14: "The Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and will call Him **IMMANUEL!" {Which means **GOD WITH US**! quoted in Matthew 1:23 above}

Isaiah 9:6: For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called **WONDERFUL COUNSELOR** and **MIGHTY GOD**!

Titus 2:13,14: We wait for the **BLESSED HOPE**--the glorious appearing of our **GREAT GOD** AND **SAVIOR**, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are **HIS VERY OWN**, eager to do what is good!!

**JESUS CHRIST** is also called **THE LAMB OF GOD** **THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE** **THE GOOD SHEPHERD** **JUDGE** **LORD OF LORDS** **HEAD OF THE CHURCH** **MASTER** **FAITHFUL AND TRUE WITNESS** **THE ROCK** **HIGH PRIEST** **THE DOOR** **LIVING WATER** **BREAD OF LIFE** **ROSE OF SHARON** **ALPHA AND OMEGA** **THE BEGINNING AND THE END** THE TRUE VINE** **TEACHER** **PROPHET** **ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD** **HOLY ONE** **ONLY MEDIATOR** **LIGHT OF THE WORLD** **IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD** **THE WORD** **CHIEF CORNERSTONE** **SAVIOR** **AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH** **THE ALMIGHTY** **KING OF KINGS** **PRINCE OF PEACE** **SON OF MAN** **REDEEMER** **BRIGHT MORNING STAR** **THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE**!!

End quote

You forgot one!

Isaiah 9:6 King James Version (KJV)

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, >>>>The everlasting Father<<<<<<, The Prince of Peace.

It is true that some wrongly called Jesus the Everlasting Father but Jesus was not the Everlasting Father or **CO-EQUAL** with the **EVERLASTING FATHER**!!

Jon 1:18: No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known!

John 14:23,24, 28: Jesus says, "Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching, My Father will love them and We will come too them an make our home with them. Anyone who does not love Me will not obey My teaching. These words you hear are not My own, they belong to the Father who sent Me.... You have heard Me say, 'I am going away and am coming back to you.' If you loved Me, you would be glad I am going to the Father , for the **FATHER IS GREATER THAN I!"

Matthew 5:6-15: Jesus says, "When you pray, go into your room, close the door and **PRAY TO YOUR FATHER**, who is unseen. Then your father, who sees what is done in secret, will **REWARD YOU**. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. This the is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, **YOUR KINGDOM COME** {See I Corinthians 15:22-24 below}, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts {sins}, as we forgive our debtors.... For if you forgive other people who sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. but if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins'!"

I Corinthians 15:22-24: For as in Adam all die , so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn, Christ, the Firstfruits, then, when He comes those who belong to Him. Then the end will come when He hands over the **KINGDOM TO GOD THE FATHER**!

Once again prophetic demonstrates his usual interpretive incompetence by his willingness to contradict scripture and by his failure to identify distinctions between biblical terminologies.

The Bible clearly says the name Everlasting Father applies to Jesus but prophetic pretends to know more than God and disagrees with God.

The Bible doesn’t say Jesus IS God the Father, it simply says that the term “Everlasting Father” in addition to other terms apply to Jesus. There are many ways that the term “father” can apply to Jesus and not apply the God the Father in the exact same sense.

But prophetic’s law says, the term father must only apply to God the Father

Matthew 23:9: Jesus says, "Do not call anyone on earth **FATHER**, for you have **ONE FATHER** and He is in heaven!!"

Dueteronomy 18:17-19: The Lord said to Moses, "I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put My words in His mouth. He will tell them everything I command Him. I Myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to My words that the pProphet speaks in My name!"

John 14:23,24, 28: Jesus says, "Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching, My Father will love them and We will come too them an make our home with them. Anyone who does not love Me will not obey My teaching. These words you hear are not My own, **THEY BELONG TO THE FATHER WHO SENT ME**....

Then your **FARTHER**, who sees what is done in secret, will **REWARD YOU**. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your **FATHER** knows what you need before you ask Him. Prophetic, you’ve once again fallen again for a rather common reasoning error known as the “fallacy of equivocation”.

Here’s a tasty and hopefully helpful hint for you to chew on.

The word “father” has many applications and has a range of meanings. That means the term “father” can be used in a variety of ways. The world for God the “Father” is not exactly the same meaning as “father” of a family or “father” of a generation or founding “father”.

Meanings of words are also determined by their use in a specific context

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

When you look at Jesus and God the Father, you should see Unity. They have a separate identity, but they are also singular in existence. In fact, the very first time God is identified in the Bible, He is referred to as "Elohim", which indicates unity in plurality. Meaning we have One God, but separate identities within the persons of that One God.

When Jesus is speaking of the Father being greater, He isn't separating Himself, but rather identity God the Father and His role.
