What commands? That "all food is clean now just because a translation adds it in brackets??? A command from the NIV is from Yahweh? He changed His mind and sent His Son to die for "food" he never said was "food" to begin with? Really??? The "food" you speak of Richard are abominations to Yahweh!

Mark 7:2 (NIV)
1. Pharisees 2. and (when they) saw some of his disciples eating food with hands that were defiled, that is, unwashed.
You see it Richard, its all about unwashed hands that Yah'shua is talking about mainly in the chapter! The **LEGALISM** of the Pharisees to that of the washing of hands! Wow, how did you miss this???
Then read verses 3 through 5! Pharisees wash hands often, think everyone should do the same. People come from the market, except they wash hands, they eat not! The washing of cups, and pots and of the tables! The Pharisees asked Yah'shua the Messiah, KJV verse 5 "why walk not thy disciples according to the traditions of the elders, but eat bread with **UNWASHED** hands?
Are you so clueless that you do not see the context of chapter 7 of Mark???
Then it makes sense now WHAT Yah'shua was talking about in verses 19-23 because it was all about dirty hands! Yah'shua was telling them all, that what dirt you may get from **UNWASHED** hands "entereth into the man, it cannot defile him" and "goeth out the draught" when its all over! Yah'shua compares DIRTY HANDS to sin that comes OUT of the heart a man that is IMPORTANT, not dirty food from **UNWASHED** hands that go into a man, verses 20-23! You see it now???

What Defiles a Person
14 And he called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.”[e] 17 And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18 And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?”[f] (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20 And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
Peter's vision from God about making unclean foods clean in Acts 10:11-15 and Acts 11:5-9 is shown to have a second application since God was also showing that he made the unclean Gentiles clean.
Acts 10:11-15: Peter became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its 4 corners. it contained all kinds of four footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. Then a Voice told him "Get up Peter **KILL AND EAT**!" "Surely not Lord!" Peter replied , "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean {As per OT law} The Voice spoke to him a second time. Do not call anything impure **THAT GOD HAS MADE CLEAN**!" For God the Father who cannot lie had Jesus declare that all **FOODS ARE NOW CLEAN** in Mark 7:18-23!!
Now in Mark 7:1-4 Jesus was talking about unwashed hands. However, as you can clearly see I Mark 7:18-23 below that Jesus has changed subjects and there is absolutely nothing that even remotely refers to unwashed hands!!
Mark 7:18-23: Jesus says, "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him unclean? For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body!" By saying this Jesus declared **ALL FOODS CLEAN**!! He went on "What comes out of a man is what makes him unclean. For from within , out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man unclean!"
And Timothy was inspired to write:
I Timothy 4:1-5: The Spirit clearly says that in later times some {Like KJV & Teddyhugger} will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through **HYPOCRITICAL LIARS**, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. They {Like KJV and Teddyhugger} order them **TO ABSTAIN FROM CERTAIN FOODS**, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything God created is good, and **NOTHING IS TO BE REJECTED** if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer!!
Galatians 3:23-25: "Before faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, *WE* ARE NO LONGER UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE LAW!!" {KJV and Teddyhugger disagree with these inspired words of God!! since theybelieve we are still under the supervision of OT Law as to unclean foods}
I Corinthians 9:20,21: Paul said, "To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law though **I MYSELF AM NOT UNDER THE LAW**, so as to win those under the law. You know I just had a new thought upon reading what you posted from the ESV! Actually when it is understood that dirty hands cannot really contaminate food that much, then the added bracket statement is really just saying "Thus he declared all foods clean" now even though the hands may be a little dirty! INTERESTING! The Messiah is saying its really a mute point to make such an issue of clean hands, thus foods are clean and leave the body with the small amount of dirt from the body! The real meaning is WHAT comes out of man that is unclean in chapter 7 of Mark!

Notice that the subject is foods or meats in general, not necessarily unclean meats. This must be read into the passage. If we consider only the word "foods," it is just as likely that Paul means that these false teachers would preach against eating beef as against eating pork or shellfish. However, the rest of the verse modifies the term. What "foods" did God create to be received - eaten - with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth? The list appears in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14! God has never given mankind any other list of creatures that are divinely certified as "food."

Can you imagine letting a pig in the literal OT Temple? Into the Holy of Holies?
Since our bodies are the temple of the Lord's now. Can you imagine smoking in God's presence in the Temple? or cussing, even using a "massage tool" in the temple?
Eating pork or any other unclean food?
Appreciate the holiness of God!
We cannot play around with worshiping our holy God. He takes it seriously, and so must we.
Never take God's grace for granted, as He continues to hate sin and disciplines Christians who disobey.
