Are we to keep the Ten Commandments today? It is also called the Royal Law, the Law of Liberty, Law of Christ in the NT.
If we are called to be holy like Christ and the ten commandments reveal his character, then shouldn't we apply them? Especially the first one that starts out , Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.
Exodus 20 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
So by nature as some say, through love, keep his commandments , then how are we showing our love for him by letting him do the love for us when he died on the cross keeping all ten for us. ? Was that the law nailed to the cross or the ordinances? Love is an action verb and Jesus says we are to lay down our lives for each other . Does the ten commandments which are love commandments valid today? Jesus says a new commandment I give to you, that you love each other like I have loved you. 1 John 3:16 (perfect parallel to the famous other verse of John 3:16) Hereby we perceive the love of God , because he laid down his life for us and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

Jesus was with His disciples as they were breaking the Sabbath by gathering grain to eat on the Sabbath. When Jesus told the rich man which of the 10 OT laws to keep He did bit include the Sabbath. There is not even one New Testament command to keep the Sabbath but there are many HT commands to keep the other 9 commandments. And Colossians 2:17 says to not let anyone judge for keeping or not keeping the Sabbath.
About 500 of the 613 Old Testament laws have been eliminated in the New Testament. There are about 100 OT laws that are repeated in the New Testament. Then there are some OT laws that are obviously still in effect that are not mentioned or banned in the New Testament such as not wearing tattoos, not having sex with animals and selling your daughters as prostitutes.
Since Paul says over 20 times that we are **NO LONGER UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE OT LAWS** there are many who teach that all of Paul's books are of Satan and since Luke and Peter confirm Paul the books of Luke and Acts and Peter are also of Satan and half of the other books in God's Word who disagree with their ridiculous doctrines are also of Satan.

First off the command is not to LIGHT a fire, (you can keep a fire going).
Second, Orthodox Jews will not start or stop the flow of electricity on
Shabbat but will use it.

Don't you know Parrot is selectly clueless? If he was to read the story (Exodus i think?) of the man that went out ON the Sabbath DAY and gathered sticks to build a fire and was put to death! Why? Because parrot FAILS to realize that LAW BREAKING man SHOULD of gathered all his firewood on prep (6th) day BEFORE the sanctified Sabbath day as commanded! He should already have a fire started prep day evening and kept burning for Sabbath morning.
Easy for me to do as I have a wood burning stove and I make sure all the wood is stacked inside prep day or night before Sabbath and when Sabbath at dawn begins, then the fire (hot coals) is still going and only an occasional log needs to be put on the fire. Its nice to be able to sit in front of the fire and read the WORD of Yahweh and do Bible studies.

I Peter 1:18,19: For you know that was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were **REDEEMED** from the empty way of life handed down to you by your forefathers, but with the **PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST**, Lamb without blemish or defect!!
I Peter 2:24,25: He Himself **BORE OUR SINS** in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness, by **HIS WOUNDS** we are healed {See Isaiah 53:5,6}!! For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls!!
I Peter 3:18 For Christ **DIED FOR SINS ONCE FOR ALL**, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God!!
I John 2:1,2: My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have One who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the **ATONING SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS**, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world!!
I John 4:10-12: This is **LOVE**, not that we loved God, but that He **LOVED** us and sent His Son as an **ATONING SACRIFICE** for our sins. Dear friends, since God so **LOVED** us, we also ought to **LOVE** one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we **LOVE** one another, God **LIVES IN US** and His **LOVE** is made complete in us.
Revelation 1:4,5: Grace and peace to you from Him who is, and who was, and who is to come and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful Witness... To Him who loves us and freed us from our sins **BY HIS BLOOD**!!
NOTE: Jesus Christ our Savior is called the **LAMB** of God **30 TIMES** in the book of Revelation because He did away with all lamb sacrifices for sin by the sacrifice of Himself!!
Revelation 5:6,9: Then I saw a **LAMB**, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne...You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because You were slain, and **WITH YOUR BLOOD** You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation!!
Revelation 12:11: They overcame him by the **BLOOD OF THE LAMB** and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death!!
Revelation 7:14: These are they who have come out of the Great Tribulation, they have was their robes and made them white in the **BLOOD OF THE LAMB**!!
Isaiah 53:5,6: But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His wounds we are healed! We all, like sheep, have gone astray , each of us has turned to his own way, and **THE LORD HAS LAID ON HIM THE INIQUITY OF US ALL**!!
Romans 5:6-10: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless. Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us. Since we are now justified **BY HIS BLOOD**, how much more will we be saved from God's wrath through Him! When we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to Him **THROUGH THE DEATH OF HIS SON**!!
