Posted : 16 Aug, 2019 12:13 PM The Roman Catholic Church teaches divine authority is founded by a combination of Scripture and Church Tradition. While the Protestants protest Church Tradition as authoritative they still accept the Books the Roman Catholic Church chose for them as their foundation of truth. To complicate matters further; the Protestants rejected the Apocrypha as inspired on the word of the same Jews who reject Jesus. Therefore "Sola Scriptura" is in fact an incomplete statement. Rather it should be: "We only follow the Scriptures Rome picked for us, except those the Jews reject." The irony is these same people claim they have the Only Truth from God based on a Text inherited from those they disagree with. Post Reply

Posted : 16 Aug, 2019 12:42 PM The Roman Catholic Church officially canonized the Apocrypha in the Council of Trent (1546 AD). This was in part because the Apocrypha contained material which supported certain Catholic doctrines, such as purgatory, praying for the dead, and the treasury of merit. Luther sinfully rejected the books of James and Revelation and Calvin sinfully believed that Revelation was not inspired by God. There were many Bible believing churches besides the Roman Catholic Church which also believed that all the books in the present Bible are inspired by God after AD 100 with the help of many inspired original manuscripts and almost the entire New Testament was written in many good Christian books after AD 100. He also believed in a slightly watered down Roman Catholic Mass that you accept by faith which is still practiced in Lutheran Churches today. Luther also went crazy in his later books when he claimed that the Jews were all extremely evil and blamed all Jews for the crucifixion of Christ. Hitler quoted Luther continually as the reason we should kill all the Jews. Luther rejected the book of James because he didn't understand that when God chooses His faithful saints, that they are God's workmanship to do good works; not to gain salvation but to gain countless eternal rewards for faithful and loving service. Ephesians 2:8-10: For it is by GRACE you have been saved, through FAITH-- and this is not FROM YOURSELVES, it is the GIFT OF GOD--NOT BY WORKS, so that no one can boast. For we are GOD'S HANDIWORK, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do!! Revelation 17:14: They will wage war against the LAMB, but the LAMB will triumph over them because He is LORD of lords and KING of kings--and with Him will be His CALLED CHOSEN and FAITHFUL followers! {Right after the marriage Feast of the LAMB** on heavenly white horses as per Revelation 19:7-20} Post Reply

So,..where is the real book? 2 Samuel 1:18 (Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher.) There is a book called “The Book of Jasher” today, although it is not the same book as mentioned in the Old Testament. It is an eighteenth-century forgery that alleges to be a translation of the “lost” Book of Jasher by Alcuin, an eighth-century English scholar. There is also a more recent book titled “The Book of Jashar” by science fiction and fantasy writer Benjamin Rosenbaum. This book is a complete work of fiction. Another book by this same name, called by many “Pseudo-Jasher,” while written in Hebrew, is also not the “Book of Jasher” mentioned in Scripture. It is a book of Jewish legends from the creation to the conquest of Canaan under Joshua, but scholars hold that it did not exist before A.D. 1625. In addition, there are several other theological works by Jewish rabbis and scholars called “Sefer ha Yashar,” but none of these claim to be the original Book of Jasher. Posted : 16 Aug, 2019 04:58 PM John 15 talks about Jesus bringing things to remembrance what the Apostles needed to communicate to others.Therefore, they became the Canon for the NT. The Apostles were looked on as having authoritative doctrine. When they died , their writings still remained. Does any particular book bear with it apostolic authority. ? or by someone associated with an Apostle.? Peter was associated with Paul. Peter called him a brother. Mark was associated Peter. Luke with Paul. Jude and James were closely associated . There was already a collection of books formulated. It wasn't a matter of voting . It was an act of leaders who recognized it as Authoritative. So , was it indeed the Catholic church that chose the books. Perhaps it was more about concerning exclusion than inclusion. Remember the Catholic church thinks Peter is the Pope, so anyone he was in contact with was already approved. I wouldn't be surprised if God used the Catholic church to purify his Holy Bible. BUT WHAT DOES GOD's WORD SAY?? 2 Corinthians 5:21: God made Him WHO HAD NO SIN to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God! Hebrews 4:14-15: Since we have a great High Priest who ascended into heaven. Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly the faith we profess. For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have One who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--YET WITHOUT SIN!! IS JESUS OUR GREAT GOD AND SAVIOR?? John 20:27-29: Then He said to Thomas, "Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe!" Thomas said to him, "My Lord and MY GOD!" There are some who completely ignore these Scriptures and claim that Jesus is not God because he said that the Father is greater than me in John 14:28 and that the Father told Him what to say as per John 14:23,24: Jesus says, "Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love Me will not obey My teaching. The words you hear are not My own; they belong to the Father who sent Me." John 9:37,38: Jesus said, "You have now seen Him; in fact, He is the one speaking with you!" Then the man said, "Lord, I believe," and he WORSHIPED HIM! NOTE: Jesus is called the LAMB 30 times in the book of Revelation! Revelation 5:13,14: Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, an all that is In them, saying "To Him who sits on the throne and to the LAMB be praise and honor and glory and power for ever and ever!" The 4 living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and WORSHIPED! Revelation 17:14; They will wage war against the LAMB, but the LAMB will overcome them because He is LORD of lords and King of kings--and with Him will be HIS CALLED, CHOSEN* and FAITHFUL followers!! You indeed are the author of confusion in this section.
