Mark is the earliest attestation of this passage. We already know all authority in heaven and earth is given to Jesus (Matthew 28:18) so no one is saying Jesus isn't Lord of the Sabbath.............................................We also know Jesus used the phrase "Son of Man" from of Daniel 7:13 to refer to himself......................
Therefore the insertion of CAPS is an acceptable addition to the translation...........................................
However in this particular case is this what the author of Mark had in mind? ............................................................
I don't think so because of the "Therefore". In other words this could read like this; 'the Sabbath was made for man (humans); Therefore the son of man (a human) is the master of it.'
The day was supposed to be a blessing as were all of the 10 commandments and not a day for hunger...
The sabbath was made to serve mankind to be a benefit and a sign..
Jesus didn't want to day to be a burden as the Pharisses had made it legalistic.
The fourth Commandment states that the Seventh Day is “the Sabbath of the Lord thy God” thus validating His claim to be Lord of the Sabbath Day and hence the Sabbath is also the Lord's Day,.
Hence Jesus decides how the Commandment should be obeyed and not the Pharisees since they though it unlawful to pick corn to eat when in need.

The 7th Day Adventists are not so strict and even drive their piston burning cars on the Sabbath when they could eliminate all the piston **FIRES** by just riding a **HORSE AND BUGGY** like the Amish. :-))) Even though the Jews and 7th Day Adventists **TRY** to keep most of the Sabbath laws about 99.9 percent of the Jews and 7th Day Adventists would be **PUT TO DEATH** according to Exodus 35:2,3 above!!

This is highly doubtful. John being a Jew who for a lifetime had referred to the seventh day as the Shabbat in a society where everyone called the seventh day the Shabbat would not just change the name because of a teaching of authority over the Shabbat.
Therefore the "Lord's Day" is likely the first day of the week when the Lord rose from the dead and the same day early Christian believers met to break bread.
