God commanded the Israelites to keep 613 laws including the 10 commandments. The marriage and adultery laws were greatly changed and toughened in the New Covenant. There are about 400 do's and don'ts in the New Covenant. The law of loving your neighbor like yourself was changed to loving your neighbor as Jesus loved you. About 570 laws in the OT laws were eliminated in the New covenant including the Sabbath laws. In the New Covenant every day is the Lord's Day especially **TODAY**.
In the OT there were many earthly rewards for obeying the OT commandments. In the New Covenant God's born from above chosen saints keep the many NT commandments the hope of only countless eternal heavenly rewards for faithful and loving service.
Common sense tells us to keep some of the OT laws which are not mentioned in the NT such as having sex with animals, women selling their daughters into prostitution and tattoos.
Their are some NT laws for women that surely apply for men also: For example: 1 Timothy 2:9: I also want woman to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or peals or expensive clothes. These laws are also mentioned in I Peter 3:3 and the Greek word for braided hair means excessive braided hair.

The OT law/ordinances was because of Man's righteousness being applied because of eating from the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil which was the Law.
Now we have Christ's righteousness and keep the Law of Love, i.e. the Ten commandments (which are in our hearts)..loving God and neighbor..some of which are broken on this forum!!

Exodus 31:14-16: Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do **ANY WORK** on that day must be **CUT OFF** from their people... Whoever does **ANY WORK** on the Sabbath day is to be put to death!
Exodus 35:2,3; Whoever does **ANY WORK** on the Sabbath must be put to death. Do not **LIGHT A FIRE** in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.
This was possible in Israel since it is about the same latitude of warm South Carolina. But anyone in the frigid parts of the earth must freeze to death in the winter since electricity would not be invented until over 2,000 years after this commandment was given!!

Jesus said to them, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? Therefore it is lawful to do good {*WORK*} on the Sabbath!"
John 5:16-18: So because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute Him. In his defense Jesus said to them. "My Father is always at His work to this very day, and **I TOO AM **WORKING**!"
