Since my article cause a stir I will see if I can help clarify some things here to hopefully simplify it.
Hinnom Valley
The Hinnom Valley is also called “the valley of the son of Hinnom” or “Valley of Benhinnom.” This was shortened to “Valley Hinnom” which in Hebrew is pronounced, “Ge Hinnom” and transliterated into Greek as “Gehenna.” Thus, the Hinnom Valley is the Gehenna of the New Testament, which is associated with fire, judgment, the Lake of Fire, eternal fire and Hell. The border for the land allotted to the tribe of Judah is partially identified with this valley by Joshua in 1400 BC:
Then it ran up the Valley of Ben Hinnom along the southern slope of the Jebusite city (that is,
Jerusalem). From there it climbed to the top of the hill west of the Hinnom Valley at the northern end
of the Valley of Rephaim. - Joshua 15:8
At its lowest point, the Hinnom Valley is also the lowest point in the city of Jerusalem. If the Temple Mount on Mount Moriah is the highest point in the city and represents the presence of the Lord, then the lowest point of the city would also have illustrative value. This can be seen by comparing Amos and Isaiah’s use of topographical typology:
Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. - Isaiah 2:3
Though they dig down to the depths of Sheol, from there my hand will take them. - Amos 9:2
Add to this the geographical fact that the wilderness began where the Hinnom Valley ended, and we have a perfect illustration of the realm of demons (Leviticus 16:10) and the chaos that was conquered (Genesis 1:2, 3). When the people of Judah began to worship demons and offer their children in the fire, they did it in the Hinnom Valley. When Josiah became king, he went down into the Hinnom Valley where children had been sacrificed to demons, and he desecrated the altar/
image (or, “the burner” called “Topheth”) that the wicked people used to burn their children as an offering to the god Molech:
He (Josiah) desecrated Topheth (“the burner”), which was in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, so no one could use it to sacrifice his son or daughter in the
fire to Molech. - 2 Kings 23:10
When God spoke through Isaiah of the coming judgment he also spoke of “the burner”:
Topheth has long been prepared; it has been made ready for the king. Its fire pit has been made deep and wide, with an abundance of fire and wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of burning sulfur, sets it ablaze. - Isaiah 30:33
The people of Judah have done evil in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name
and have defiled it (Solomon’s Temple). They have built the high places of Topheth (“the burner”) in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire – something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind. So beware, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when
people will no longer call it Topheth or the Valley of Ben Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter, for they will bury the dead in Topheth until there is no
more room. - Jeremiah 7:31-33
The Hinnom Valley had become a place associated not only with the lowest point and the path to the wilderness of demonic chaos, but also as a place of
hideous demon worship that demanded the burning of living children. The prophets Isaiah and Jeremiah had condemned this valley as surely as King Josiah
had shut it down. It became a rejected part of the city that was converted to a burning pit to dump the city’s garbage. In 27 AD Jesus made reference to this location calling it by the Greek name Gehenna when he said:
Anyone who says, “You fool!” will be in danger of the fire of hell (or, in the Greek, “Gehenna”). - Matthew 5:22
Likewise, James, Jesus’ brother, writing from Jerusalem around 48 AD says of the tongue:
It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell (or, in the Greek, “Gehenna”). - James 3:6
The slopes of the Hinnom Valley were used for tombs by the wealthiest Jewish families in the first century. Josephus says the tomb of Annas the high priest is
located in this area and such a monument has been identified. There are more than 30 tombs cut and excavated in the lower southern side of the Hinnom
Valley by a monastery dedicated to Saint Onuphrius.

**WE** ARE ALL WAITING FOR THE NEW HEAVEN THE NEW EARTH AND THE ETERNAL NEW JERUSALEM**!!

Hebrews 12:26-28: God says, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens. The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken--that is created things--so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a *KINGDOM* that can not be shaken let us be thankful...for our God is a consuming fire!
2 Peter 3:10-13: But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will DISAPPEAR with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and *EVERYTHING* in it will be burned up {NIV}. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you {**CHURCH SAINTS*} wait eagerly for the Day of God to come. {NIV} That Day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with His promise **WE** {Excluding the Preterists and the RC church} are looking forward to a New heavens and a New Earth, the home of righteousness.
I Corinthians 15:50--51: I declare to you brothers, that flesh and blood CANNOT INHERIT the *KINGDOM OF GOD*... Listen I tell you a mystery: we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet."
John 18:36: Jesus says, "My *KINGDOM* is not of this world....But now, my Kingdom is from another place!!"
Matthew 25:31-34: Jesus says, "When the Son of Man comes in His glory , and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate the people one from another..He will put the sheep on the right and the goats on His left. Then the King will say to those on His right, "Come you who are blessed of My Father, take your inheritance, the *KINGDOM* prepared for you!!"

Revelation 21:1-5: Then I saw a New heaven and a New Earth, for the {present} first heaven and first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the **NEW JERUSALEM**, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making **EVERYTHING NEW**!" Then He said, "Write this down, for these words are TRUSTWORTHY and TRUE!"
Hebrews 11:13-16: All these people {Abraham, Sarah Isaac, Jacob, Noah etc} were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were looking for a BETTER COUNTRY--a HEAVENLY ONE. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a *CITY* (The *NEW JERUSALEM*} for them!!
Galatians 4:25,26: Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the **JERUSALEM** that is **ABOVE** is free, and she is our MOTHER !!
The New Jerusaem is described in Revelation 21:9 to Revelation 22:5. The New Jerusalem will be 12,000 stadia long, high and wide as per Revelation 21:16. A stadia is 606 feet long which is the exact same length as the ancient Greek stadium. 606 feet times 12,000 equals 7,272,000 feet which is 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet. A mile is exactly 5,280 feet. {1377 times 5,280 feet equal 7,270,560 feet.} And so the New Jerusalem will be exactly 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high!!
Revelation 21:9-12,15-16,19,23,27; Revelation 22:1-6: The angel said to John, “Come, I will show you the Bride the Wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from from God It shone like the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel. It had a great high wall {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet HIGH!} with 12 gates, and with 12 angels at the gates.
The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the City, its gates and its walls. The City was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the City with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia {A Stadia is exactly 606 feet} in length, and as wide and high as it is long. {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high} The wall was made of Jasper, and the City of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone....... The great street of the City was of pure gold, like transparent glass...... Only those written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be able to enter the New Jerusalem!
Then the angel showed me the river of the Water of Life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb {Jesus} down the middle of the great street of the City. On each side of the river stood the Tree of Life, bearing 12 crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month... The throne of God and of the **LAMB** will be in the City, and his servants will serve Him. They will see His face and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night!! They will not need the light of the lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign **FOR EVER AND EVER**. The angel said to me, “These words are TRUSTWORTHY and TRUE!!”
JESUS WILL WRITE ON US THE NAME OF THE CITY OF GOD THE **NEW JERUSALEM**!!
Revelation 2:18; 3:12,21: Jesus says, "To him who overcomes I will give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it... I will write on him the name of the City of My God, the **NEW JERUSALEM**, which is coming down out of heaven from My God....And I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."
According to Revelation 22:3 the only 2 thrones in the **NEW JERUSALEM** will be the thrones of the **FATHER** and of the **LAMB** Jesus Christ.

Flesh and blood CANNOT INHERIT the *KINGDOM OF GOD*
Isn't this a reference to being born again since his kingdom is not of this world.
Israel is the "woman" of the Bible: Jer 3:6 The LORD said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: “Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot.
Let's take the most well-known scripture in the New Testament:
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John has shown the New Jerusalem as the bride and/or wife. then we should realise that it is showing the home of the bride and it is the PEOPLE that dwell in the city that are the bride, the greatest love of Bridegroom.
The bride/wife has always been PEOPLE, whether it was the nation of Israel as the wife of Jehovah in the Old Testament or the Church as the bride of Christ in the New. Paul said it clearly (writing to the church):
2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
So if the Lord already had the marriage supper of the Lamb in the first century after the fall of Jerusalem, then doesn't that support Preterism?

**WHAT ARE THE PRE-TRIB, POST-TRIB, MID-TRIB AND PRETERIST VIEWS OF THE END TIMES**??
The most popular view is the secret Pre-Tribulation Rapture {About 65 percent} just before a 7-year or 3 1/2 year {1278 days} or 1260-day Great Tribulation of all the Church Saints. And then on the last Day of the Tribulation at the 2nd coming of Jesus all the Tribulation saints and the OT saints will be resurrected and then the lost will be resurrected and then immediately followed by Judgment Day.
The next most popular is a one time Post-Tribulation Resurrection {About 25 percent} for all the saints on the Last Day of the 7-year 0r 3 1/2 year or 1260-day Great Tribulation, immediately followed by the Resurrection of the lost and Judgment Day. I believe in this Post-Tribulation Resurrection after a 1260-day Great Tribulation.
And then there are those {About 5 percent} who believe in a Mid-Trib or Pre wrath resurrection in the middle of the Great Tribulation followed by a another resurrection on the Last Day, immediately followed by the resurrection of the lost and Judgment Day.
And then there is the Preterist view which believes that **EVERYTHING IN REVELATION and in the Olivet Prophecies in Matthew 24 & 25, Mark 13 and Luke 21 symbolically took place in the 3 1/2 years between April AD 67 and October AD 70 when Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple was completely destroyed by the Roman army. Nero Caesar who was *666* gave the order in April AD 67 to make war against Israel who had rebelled against their Roman rulers. But Nero Caesar committed suicide in June of AD 67.
However there are many things in the Olivet prophecies and Revelation which contradict the Preterist view as follows:
Matthew 24:29-31: Jesus says, "Immediately after the distress of those {1260} days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light and the stars will fall from the sky! {Luke 21:28 adds "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near!"} Then will ***APPEAR*** the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. and then all the {Unsaved} peoples of the earth will mourn when the see the son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a loud {7th & Last} trumpet call, and the will gather **HIS ELECT** from the 4 winds, from one end of heavens to the other!" {Mark 13:27 adds "From the ends of the earth!"}
Matthew 25:31-34,41,46: Jesus says, "**WHEN** the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him {See Matthew 24:29-31 above}. He will sit on His throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him and He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on His left. Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed by My Father, take your inheritance the Kingdom prepared for you.'... ***THEN*** He will say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal for prepared for the devil and his angels.' ... Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
The above 2 passages did not take place in AD 70. The only thing that happened in Ad 70 is the Roman army after a 3-year war with the Jews completely destroyed the Jewish Temple killed many Jews and took many Jewish prisoners. When the Christians saw the Roman army coming to Jerusalem they fled to the mountains as Jesus had commanded and prophesied in Luke 21:20-24
Luke 21:20-24: Jesus said, "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written {See Daniel 9:26} There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled!!" {This prophecy was fulfilled almost 1900 years later when the Jews took over East Jerusalem on May 14th 1948 and took over West Jerusalem from the Gentiles on June 7th, AD 1967!!}
You can be absolutely sure that the Resurrection of all of God's saints and the lost; and Judgment Day did not take place in October AD 70!!
2 Thessalonians 1:1,6-10: To the **CHURCH** of the Thessalonians... God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen **WHEN THE LORD JESUS IS **REVEALED** from heaven in **BLAZING GLORY** with His powerful angels {See Matt 24:29-31above}. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His might ***ON THE DAY*** He comes to glorified in His saints and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes **YOU** {Thessalonian CHURCH SAINTS**!!}
This Scripture absolutely contradicts the pre-trib belief that a secret silent rapture of the **CHURCH SAINTS** will take place 3 1/2 or 7 years **BEFORE** the unsaved are judged and sent to hell **ON THE DAY** Jesus is **REVEALED**!! Since the Resurrection of all the Church Saints and the lost are Resurrected on the **SAME LAST DAY**!
