The Jewish rebellion itself took place in 66 AD.
Tacitus in the Annals refers to disturbances, insurrections, war, and commotions in as diverse places as Germany, Africa, Gaul, Parthia, Britain, and Armenia.
Josephus says that Roman civil wars in this era were so common that he didn't see a need to write about them in detail. The Roman civil wars were especially pronounced between 68-70 when three emperors held the top spot in short order and their rival troops fought it out.

Secondly, Lazarus is not the Lazarus that was raised from the dead. This is a parable, using Abraham’s bosom and Lazarus. Those names go together. Lazarus is a shortened Hellenized form of Eliezer and his name means, “Whom God helps”. This is the name of the Gentile slave of Abraham. Abraham complained to God that he didn’t have a child, no one to leave an inheritance to… and so he was going to have to leave his inheritance to his Gentile slave from Damascus. (Gen. 5:2-3)
God did give Abraham a child, so the inheritance didn’t go to Eliezer. But God made a promise to Abraham that through his seed, all the nations (families) of the earth would be blessed. All means all, means not just the physical descendants of Abraham, but the Gentiles too.
Lazarus is leaning on the bosom of Abraham. Just like John leaned against the bosom-chest of Jesus, so it is a figure of speech of one reclining at a banquet with Abraham and what he represents: the age of the kingdom after AD 70. It never speaks of it as some compartment of the underworld, rather it presents a picture of the banquet of the kingdom of God.

Mat. 21:43, Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God (natural) will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit (spiritual).
The context of this story is Jesus talking to the Pharisees about Mammon. Jesus was telling the Pharisees that just because they were natural descendants of Abraham, did not mean they were going to get the spiritual inheritance of the kingdom. Their abuse of money (in the same context) could be seen in how they were putting away their wives (not divorcing them) to avoid giving up the dowry. By leaving them destitute, if they remarried, it caused them to commit adultery.
This chasm is symbolic of the great cultural divide between Jew and Gentile. It is the social and economic division between Jews and Samaritans and Jews and Romans, and Jews and any non-Jews. Most likely it is a reference to the Jordan Rift Valley where the land Abraham was promised was separated from the Gentile lands. One day, the wold and the lamb would lie down together (Jew and Gentile... not lion and the lamb, btw).
“Lazarus is said to beg outside the rich man’s gate (v. 19). He longs to eat even the rich man’s table scraps. This is reminiscent of the Gospel story in which Jesus reserved his healing ministry for “the lost sheep of Israel” but a Canaanite woman appealed: “Even dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Note the multiple allusions with Lazarus, who “… longed to eat what fell from the rich man’s table” and “Even the dogs came and licked his sores” (v. 21).
Uncircumcised Gentile proselytes of Judaism were referred to as “gate proselytes” or “strangers inside the gate.” They enjoyed certain rights and privileges under the Mosaic Law. Is the parable condemning the rich man for leaving Lazarus outside when the Law obligated Jews to provide for foreigners inside?
The great role reversal was coming. In fact, the Greek text indicates that it doesn’t say “the dogs licked his sores.” It says “the other dogs licked his sores.” In other words, Jesus was saying that the Rich man inside the house was just as much a dog, an outsider, a Gentile, as the dogs outside! Those “outside the gates” with “no inheritance” were going to participate in the kingdom of God! While the supposed sons of Abraham who abused the poor were going to be put out of this new era.
Gentiles means nations. All the nations would be included not just the Jews!

Those who interpret this narrative as a true incident have several reasons for doing so. First, the story is never called a parable. Many other of Jesus' stories are designated as parables, such as the sower and the seed (Luke 8:4); the prosperous farmer (Luke 12:16); the barren fig tree (Luke 13:6); and the wedding feast (Luke 14:7). Second, the story of the rich man and Lazarus uses the actual name of a person. Such specificity would set it apart from ordinary parables, in which the characters are not named.
Third, this particular story does not seem to fit the definition of a parable, which is a presentation of a spiritual truth using an earthly illustration. The story of the rich man and Lazarus presents spiritual truth directly, with no earthly metaphor. The setting for most of the story is the afterlife, as opposed to the parables, which unfold in earthly contexts.

To the Romans Paul spoke of "the God of peace bruising Satan under their feet shortly." (Rom 16:20). To Corinth Paul wrote that "the God of the age had blinded the unbelieving that the light of the gospel might not dawn upon them." (II Cor 4:4). To the Hebrews Paul wrote that "Jesus partook of flesh and blood that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil." (Heb 2:14). Peter wrote that "the devil was going about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour." (I Pet 5:8). John says that "to this end was the Son of God manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil." (I Jn 3:8).
So did Jesus accomplish what he came to do? The Book of Revelation is the story of this accomplishment. The Lord's Day is the Day of the Lord's Wrath -- not Sunday. It was the day that John the Baptist spoke about (Lk 3:7). Satan is no longer in charge of the world. Jesus now has the keys of death and Hades (Rev 1:18). Satan will cast some of you in prison but you will overcome him (Rev 2:10). In Chap 12 the devil stands before the woman to devour her son when he is born, but he is caught up to heaven to the throne of God. There is a war in heaven which Satan looses and he is thrown down to the earth. He knows that his time is short so persecutes the woman and her seed. I believe this chapter sums up the great events of the generation of Jesus and his apostles. Notice the introduction of the enemies of Christ and his church. First, the devil in Chap 12. Then the beast of the sea in Chap 13. Then the beast of the earth who turns out to be the False Prophet. Then Babylon is introduced. Then they are judged and fall in the reverse order of their introduction. Satan last of all falls in Chap 20.
Now what do you see as the real purpose for Christ? Is it to restore man to the original garden paradise? A millennium in which Christ rules over the earth in perfect peace? Was His purpose to restore man in a perfect physical state free from disease and death? Or is the real mission a spiritual one that restores man to his relationship with God by making provision for sin and eternal death? This is really it! So when we read in Rev 21 that the new heaven and new earth have come down and God dwells in the midst of it, we are reading about the completion of Christ's work for us. The real paradise of God has been restored. No sin is there; the blood of Christ covers it. No death is there; all things are made new. Those who are in Christ Jesus today have entered into this new relationship.
People are unable to accept that the Kingdom of God is present. They think in the physical realm where Satan still exists. But in the spiritual realm Satan has been removed from between man and his maker.

Hebrews 12:26-28: God says, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens. The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken--that is created things--so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a *KINGDOM* that can not be shaken let us be thankful...for our God is a consuming fire!
2 Peter 3:10-13: But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will DISAPPEAR with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and *EVERYTHING* in it will be burned up {NIV}. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind what kind of people ought you to be? Hebrews 11:13-16: All these people {Abraham, Sarah Isaac, Jacob, Noah etc} were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were looking for a BETTER COUNTRY--a HEAVENLY ONE. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a *CITY* (The *NEW JERUSALEM*} for them!!
Galatians 4:25,26: Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the **JERUSALEM** that is **ABOVE** is free, and she is our MOTHER !!
The New Jerusaem is described in Revelation 21:9 to Revelation 22:5. The New Jerusalem will be 12,000 stadia long, high and wide as per Revelation 21:16. A stadia is 606 feet long which is the exact same length as the ancient Greek stadium. 606 feet times 12,000 equals 7,272,000 feet which is 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet. A mile is exactly 5,280 feet. {1377 times 5,280 feet equal 7,270,560 feet.} And so the New Jerusalem will be exactly 1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high!!
Revelation 21:9-12,15-16,19,23,27; Revelation 22:1-6: The angel said to John, “Come, I will show you the Bride the Wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from from God It shone like the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel. It had a great high wall {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet HIGH!} with 12 gates, and with 12 angels at the gates.
The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the City, its gates and its walls. The City was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the City with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia {A Stadia is exactly 606 feet} in length, and as wide and high as it is long. {1377 miles plus 1,440 feet long, wide and high} The wall was made of Jasper, and the City of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone....... The great street of the City was of pure gold, like transparent glass...... Only those written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be able to enter the New Jerusalem!
Then the angel showed me the river of the Water of Life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb {Jesus} down the middle of the great street of the City. On each side of the river stood the Tree of Life, bearing 12 crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month... The throne of God and of the **LAMB** will be in the City, and his servants will serve Him. They will see His face and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night!! They will not need the light of the lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign **FOR EVER AND EVER**. The angel said to me, “These words are TRUSTWORTHY and TRUE!!”
JESUS WILL WRITE ON US THE NAME OF THE CITY OF GOD THE **NEW JERUSALEM**!!
Revelation 2:18; 3:12,21: Jesus says, "To him who overcomes I will give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it... I will write on him the name of the City of My God, the **NEW JERUSALEM**, which is coming down out of heaven from My God....And I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne."
According to Revelation 22:3 the only 2 thrones in the **NEW JERUSALEM** will be the thrones of the **FATHER** and of the **LAMB** Jesus Christ.
