Yes, there are christians around. It just seems like I'm always looking in the wrong places for them. It gets so frustrating trying to weed out the christians from the world sometimes tho. May God bless you in your search, as I know He will bless me in mine
Christianity is based on God's word, not man-made doctrines and tradition. I see man-made doctrines and traditions all over the place, but not much true Christianity. So, I ask again, are there any Christians in the world and on this website?
The Bible is God's love letter to us. He knows, as an earthly father does with his children, that we will not get everything right. Not one person on earth follows the Bible perfectly in every sense - it's not possible because people are different and we interpret scripture differently. We are told in the Bible not to look down on others because of things they eat or which days they choose to see as Holy. Paul is clear when he says "Who are you to condemn God's servants?"
The people we perceive as "true Christians" may in fact, not be. Remember that Jesus said that tax collectors and harlots would enter the Kingdom before those who were often seen as righteous in His day. Often, those who were seen as righteous were actually self-righteous, pointing out the flaws in others beliefs and not acknowledging the problems in their own life and walk.
God calls people who don't see themselves as high and mighty, but as people that are not perfect, don't get everything right, and know they are in need of a Savior.
So in answer to your question again, yes. There are many true Christians here. And in this country. However, there are also those who profess to be Christian, but in reality are more into proving others beliefs wrong than in offering love, kindness, support, and fellowship to their brothers and sisters in Christ.
Again, there was only ONE person who had it all right, and we ALL nailed Him to a cross.
Praise the LORD JESUS CHRIST and peace be unto you my dear brother. To speak on your question:
Being a Christian doesn't mean that one doesn't need work. It does mean however that one is Yielded to the POTTER (GOD) allowing HIM to do the work in his/her heart that GOD sees fit to be done, making the individual into all that GOD purposes for his/her life.
Remember what Elijah said to GOD as he (Elijah) ran from Jezebel "And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away." (I Kings 19:10)
But GOD let HIS prophet in on a little something, "Yet I (GOD) have left ME seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him." (I Kings 19:18)
Well GOD'S prophet didn't know this bit of info until the LORD informed him of it.
I personally believe that GOD desires us sometimes to feel like we are the only one running with the whole truth and willing to stand anyway. It shows the attitude of "GOD I love YOU so much that even if the whole world was against GOD, I'll still be for YOU." GOD tested Abraham with his only son Isaac; and after Abraham passed the test, GOD said "...for now I know that thou fearest GOD, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from ME." (Gen 22:12b)
Also, we should understand and not forget the growth factor. The Apostle Paul addressed Christians who were babes in CHRIST and walking somewhat like the unsaved and yet he still referred to them as believers. They simply had to mature out of their carnal ways. (I Cor 3:1-3)
JESUS named three groups of people as it relates to entering the Kingdom of GOD. Those who would be the greatest, those who would be the least, and those who would not even enter in. (Matt 5:19-20)
This shows us that even though some Christians are more dedicated than others this doesn't mean that those who are less dedicated are not Christians. They could expect though to be not as great in the Kingdom of Heaven than those who are more dedicated to GOD. And those persons who don't truly love the LORD won't enter in.
Those in whom GOD'S Holy SPIRIT dwells are born of HIM. GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT dwelling in us is a seal that we are accepted of GOD. IT'S GOD'S SEAL of Approval. (Eph 1:13-14, Romans 8:9, I John 4:13)
With that said, we must always be careful as believers not to become lifted up in Pride and fall ourselves (Prov 16:18), remembering the teaching of CHRIST, "Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." (Luke 18:10-14)
May GOD bless and help us all to walk in true Love towards HIM and all persons, looking for that Blessed Hope and the Glorious Appearing of the Great GOD and our SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, to whom be Glory, Praise, Honor, and Dominion both now and for ever. Amen.
I ponder on this question but just figure that this consuption has been around for awhile and only the Saviour knows who they are. I believe in the Saviour but, I dont feel I am the perfect Christian. (NO Saint) I been a pretty good follower of the Word in my life. I been made fun of enough to know that I must be someone the Devil wants to change over to what the Good Word has done in my life. I feel I havelet my Christ down by slacking in the Word because the movements going around with issues in my life . God uses people for good and the Devil you know where that gets you.I am not perfect inside or out I just am a faith believer that Jesus had died for which is the believers that believe in him. I am striding along but its is a race I just havent received what the Lord Jesus had won for me yet. I will lay my Crown down at his feet its not by me alone I even deserve what is in store for me. tknchances
Are there any true Christians in this country? or on this site?
mine here
you keep askin are there any true or real christians here.. and that my friend is a pride thing in you. when you say such things to us christians here on this site ,actually questioning whether we are christians or not is what it boils down to..
it means that you feel you are a superior christian.. better than other christians.. youre not just a christian like other christians.. .. youre the real and true christian. and anyone who doesnt think like you is either less of a christian than you or aint a christian at all.
well im here to tell ya youre either a christian saved by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB or you aint a christian....aint no in between..
GOD is not a respector of persons. might do well to remember that..
dear samson, heres you a few verses you might wanna study some...
luke 18:9-14 9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank You that I am not like other men-extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me a sinner! 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
You're right Cattle - God is no respector, therefore if He's going to send one idolater to Hell, He has to send all idolaters to Hell. Christmas and Easter are idolatry.
Praise the LORD JESUS CHRIST and Peace be unto you my dear brother.
Personally, I don't celebrate any of the holidays, as they are celebrated in America. However, I do take the stance of celebrating CHRIST JESUS' Birth, Life, Death, Burial, Resurrection from the dead, HIS ascending into Heaven, HIS Heavenly ministry, and HIS coming back again, everyday.
This is why we live our lives, this is our hope, this is why we give thanks and praise to GOD WHO saved us and washed us in HIS OWN BLOOD. This is why we testify CHRIST.
As a young Christian, as soon as I learned of the Pagan origins of the various holiday's they were no longer apart of my Christian walk. That has been over or around 15 years ago.
However, we must use wisdom and have understanding, as well as compassion. So instead of not saying Merry CHRISTmas on Dec 25th. I'll take the practise of saying Merry CHRISTmas on that day and any other day of the year that I choose to. Just yesterday, I walked into a gas station singing "Joy to the world" aloud :) I may be found, by the grace of GOD telling people Merry CHRISTmas (meaning celebration of CHRIST) in February. Myself and another person said Merry CHRISTmas to each other at work just days ago. Then if someone questions it, I can just let them know that CHRIST is to be celebrated everyday.
During what is known as the "Christmas season", I'll tell people, by the grace of GOD, that we are to live our lives for CHRIST, there is no better way to honor GOD when celebrating HIS birth (meaning the birth of CHRIST), or words to that effect.
For thanksgiving, I eat what I desire and prefer something other than the traditional "turkey"...thank GOD for the liberty we have in CHRIST.
Now for those who choose to put up a tree and lights and all the other things that they do, that's between them and GOD. For those who choose to spend money and end up in great debt to impress others with gifts that GOD didn't lead them to buy, well that's something they have to live with.
I feel good not having run up bills being bound by the tradition of men. That's in every area of my life, by the grace of GOD.
However, I am careful, by the grace of GOD, not to exclude celebrating CHRIST on the 25th of Dec, just because others are doing it in ways similar to the pagans. No, no, no, I'm not to let others steal my joy away. Should I not celebrate CHRIST on the 25th of Dec, just because others do it with pagan-like traditions? GOD forbid. It is still the day that the LORD has made and I am still to Rejoice and be glad in it.
I'll tell people Happy Thankgiving on Thanksgiving and MerryCHRIST on Dec 25th. Letting them know as well that Everyday is a day of Thankgiving and CHRIST is to be celebrated everyday.
Now until man's tradition come into direct conflict with the WORD of GOD, we shouldn't condemn it.
"And he (JESUS) said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." (Mk 7:9)
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." (Col 2:8)
So if man's tradition doesn't come into direct conflict with the WORD of GOD, I believe it is good for us to stand on what the WORD says in Romans Chp 14:
Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks."
The key then would be the intention of a person's heart. That along with their traditions not contradicting or going contrary to the commandment/delight of the WORD of GOD (JESUS CHRIST). Makes it ok, in my view. Praise the LORD!
