God loves a cheerful giverPosted : 18 Jun, 2019 08:28 PMTithing was part of the Old Testament. It was something the Jewish people did to try to buy favor with The Lord but that isn't how it works folks You can't have a wicked heart and try to win favor with God. That is what the Pharisees tried to do. That is why in Luke 18 The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. The Tax Collector was justified before God NOT THE PHARISEE. |

God loves a cheerful giverPosted : 19 Jun, 2019 12:30 PMI totally agree that God loves a cheerful giver. I do not know percentages, only what I give. But there is something wrong in the world with all our technology. I grew up with a "plate" being passed for people to put in their cash, check, or nothing. Today, my church has a box as you go out to put money in, but they ENCOURAGE paying over the internet or by phone. I am certain this is not the only church in the US that does this. I believe impersonal technology takes away the emotional satisfaction that many people had by giving cheerfully. |
