Sabbath 4/13/19 Alfred Station NY Seventh Day Baptist Pastor Nick sermon “Remember It Is Grace, Not Us! “ I Corinthians 1: 26 to 2: 1-5

==========================================================================================

We need to remember that when telling our testimonies/stories of what God did for us, it was by His Grace that we are here now. In our text, the church at Corinth was having arguments about who was the best, who has this spiritual gift and or that spiritual gift. Apostle Paul said the people who presented the Gospel to you are all pointing to Jesus! Paul said to remember who they were when God found them. Don’t get too high and mighty in yourself because we are all at the feet of Jesus Christ getting help from God. Everybody is equal in Christ because we all got here through the Glory of God in our life. It’s when we were broken and in pain, that God had the opportunity to come to us and lead us to follow and accept Jesus.

Paul said to remember all the bad things we were so we can see all the good things Jesus IS. We are NOT so it is very clear what Jesus IS. Paul said he came to preach to us through the Power of God. He came to tell us what Jesus had done. Everything inside of Paul and inside of us is from Jesus. If we want to boast about ourselves, we need to boast in Jesus Christ. Jesus is Righteousness, Sanctification and Redemption.

1) Righteousness: Being spotless, perfection and sinless. We can stand before God because of Jesus.

2) Sanctification: Being cleansed to be set apart for Holy work.

3) Redemption: Being purchased back, being taken out of slavery, being set free and being bought back from debtor’s prison.

Remember where we came from before Christ. Remember being able to stand before God and being bought back from slavery by Jesus. Paul had confidence in the God who saves us all. In Christ ALL things are possible. Just let God do His plan because God knows best! God affecting people’s lives is a testimony to the Goodness of God. We can all find Salvation thru Jesus Christ. So be encouraged in your journey. Be encouraged and know that God is NOT done with you. God is taking you on a journey that ends in Eternal Life with Him in Heaven. At the end He will say “Come, I have a place saved for you”.

AMEN
