I read probably 3-4 times a week. I'm definitely working on trying to read more though.

Ha! Nice jjar - hey by the way; nice profile pic! (No, I'm not hitting on you, just thought it was a nice change)

Ya, I need to read the word more; in fact, stumbled on something really profound this morning, but it would take too long to write it out in the "Biblical discussion" segment - and I gotta leaf for Alberta tomorow.

I try to read it daily; it's especially difficult when I'm on the road, but I have it on MP3. I consider that an add-on to reading the word, not a replacement.

I go for every Sunday; other days I read the Homilies of St. John Chrysostom, and the lives of the Saints.

I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly, I perceived that this also was a chasing of the wind, for in much wisdom is much grief and he that inceaseith knowledge increaseith sorrow.

Surprisingly, yes, though it's only Sunday so far that I read will read for a long while without study Rom 10:17. Another thing that is nice is to have a CD that reads the gospel so you will hear the word even while you sleep.

Praise the LORD JESUS CHRIST and Peace be unto you my dear brother. To answer your question:

By the glorious grace of GOD, Yes I read the Holy Scriptures both day and night and thoughout the day everyday and everynight. The last time I missed was in 1994 when I got home from a hard days work and opened my Bible and fell asleep, before reading a word. Well, I didn't like that. So GOD gave me a better way to not miss reading HIS Holy WORD. "Read it Before you start your day."

So once I'm awake in the morning, the first things i do, by GOD'S glorious and great grace, are pray and read the Holy Scriptures.

Also, I carry my bible everywhere I go so I'm able to have it handy to read.

I make it a practise as well not to eat any food before feeding my spirit with the WORD of GOD. JESUS said, "Man should not live by bread (food for the body) alone, but by every WORD that proceedeth out of the MOUTH OF GOD." (Matt 4:4)

I do this as a practise to always put my spirit before my natural self.

I have set prayer times (morning around 12am, once I wake up around 5-6am, first break at work, around 9:30am, lunch time around 12pm, second break at work around 2:30pm, after work, around 4pm, and at night around 8pm) that's 7 times a day for indivual prayer at which times I also read from the Holy Scriptures. I just feel it good to take time to hear what GOD has said since I want HIM to hear what I have to say in prayer. That's just my personal preference and I don't teach it as doctrine. I also pray other prayers in the day (shorter ones) in which I don't normally read the scriptures, like if I running, driving, or praying with others. All in All I believe that meditating in the WORD of GOD on a daily basis is a very good practise.

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." (Joshua 1:8)

"But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." (Ps 1:2)

" Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy WORD." (Ps 119:148)

"And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites: And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them: (now this is the reason) That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel." (Deu 1718-20)

"Jesus answered and said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?" (Mk 12:24

" These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily *, whether those things were so." (Acts 17:11)

"And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." (II Tim 3:15)

"As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby " (I Pet 2:2)

But most importantly, we should all keep in mind:

"(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified." (Rom 2:13)

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." (James 1:22)

To GOD be All the Glory, Honor, Praise, and Thanksgiving both now and forever. Amen.
