This was in one of my devotional today. So I wanted to share it...
In Romans 12:2 the Greek word for renew is anakainosis and it means renovation or a complete change for the better.
I just love that. For us to renew our minds we must actually strive to make a complete change for the better. I can think of no better way to renew our minds than by diving into the Word of God. Not only diving into it, but allowing it to submerge our very being. When we fill our minds with the truth of Gods Word, we will be changed from the inside out.
Psalm 119:11 says, I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Merely doing something good or right without the right heart wont last. We will find ourselves overwhelmed because we are trying to stay on a spiritual treadmill of sorts. But when we hide, treasure and breathe the word of God, we are less likely to walk in sin.
The Bible is clear that there is power in Gods Word. In fact, we are told in Hebrews 4:12 that it is living and activesharper than any double-edged swordpenetrating even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrowjudging the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
When you find yourself fretting over that thing you keep fretting over, encourage yourself by proclaiming Matthew 6:34 over your life. When you feel picked on and wonder if anyone is on your side, declare Romans 8:31 and walk in victory. There is a verse to apply to the situations in life. Today is the day to claim them!
Friend, there is power in the Word. And I am more than confident that it will be the determining force to renew your mind today and every day.
Romans 12:2 KJV: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Amen Brother! Good word. It's all about allowing Jesus to live through us. We can do nothing righteous on our own. We have to submit our will for His will and walk in His righteousness. If it's not Jesus, it's worthless. :raised_hands:
I believe you need to translate the scripture from Romans 12 verse 2, as the English is not correct.
If the English is not correct, then your understanding will not be correct.
How many self called pastors have taught from the faulty English translations and have spoken wrongly about what the Word of GOD Almighty actually says.
Maybe David pslms could help you, seeing he seems to have been to the cemetery to learn to read, write and TRANSLATE the Word of GOD Almighty.
Just a quick word to keep everything in it's simplicity.
Believing in Christ is made for little children, Matthew 18:3, for lambs, for the weak and those who are nothing in this life. All is told and given in simplicity, and all is easy to know. For those who are wise men, they will study Greek and original languages, they will be a researcher, but the truth is hidden from them. Matthew 11:25. God has already given us all tings through the knowledge of Christ, and if we needed to know original languages, God would have told us, but the little ones who trust in Christ know by righteous faith and trust in God, know God has ensured His word that this whole world witnesses, are correct, preserved by the Lord and give faith to all who hear them exactly as they are. It could not be any other way...
Ecclesiastes 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Proverbs 14:6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Romans 12:2 is straightforward, and so is Romans 12:1, all is called to holiness, our bodies, minds and heart, soul and strength. It cannot be any more simple, can it.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
