Have you ever witnessed, experienced, or heard of ( from a trusted person you know ) an actual verifiable miracle.

I would really like to hear your input on this topic. During my eight years as a pastor of a young, vibrant assembly ( 1992-2000 ) I saw, heard of, and witnessed some unexplainable events which translated into increased faith, commitment, adoration, and passion for the True and Living God. Quick note here: YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEE A MIRACLE TO BELIEVE IN, LOVE ON AND ADORE AND LIVE FOR GOD! So that aside, sparkling_heart: here is a short explanation/ definition --- Although persons regularly refer to "miracle" as a broad range of wondrous events, the biblical concept is limited to those not explainable solely by natural processes but which require the direct causal agency of a supernatural being, usually God. Looking forward to hearing from you! Love to you my fellow believers.

Hello Pastor!

I can appreciate the need for us to think of a 'miracle' as something 'supernatural', but personally I think this can lead us down the wrong path, let me explain a little.

I'm sure you would agree that anything which we perceive in the physical realm we can also perceive in the spiritual. Or another way of putting it, for every manifestation in the physical world, there is also a spiritual manifestation, as in Ep 6:20 and particularly Jn 1:1-3. These verses tell me that anything we 'see' and 'hear' and 'touch' are spoken into existence by the Word of God and in fact exist in the spiritual realm before they do in the physical.

So what does this mean? Well it means that everything is both natural and supernatural of course, and it should not be up to us to second guess what a miracle is or is not. I think most people consider every conception a miracle, don't you?

This is the problem we Christians come across with extremely atheistic people of course, to whom there is no such thing as a bona fide miracle, because (they would say) "even if a 'realistic/naturalistic' explanation cannot be found at this time, there must be one somewhere". And in many cases there may well be, but I (and I'm sure you also) would answer...that does not mean the event in question wasn't truly miraculous!

If you were about to walk across the road and someone called your name so you turned round just as a car came speeding round the corner, would you not call that a miracle?

I have been the recipient of a number of what I call miracles, though none of them really 'defy' explanation, but I do still believe God 'stepped in' when help was needed!

Be blessed!

A young man told me a time ago that they were gathering together for a special prayer time for a person who had one leg shorter than other. He saw with his own eyes how the shorter leg grew. He wouldn't have any reason not to tell the truth.

And I'm not joking.

Thank you, my dear sister, for your lovely contributiuon. I have seen and do believe in miracles. My very first one probably saved me from a lynching, and possible jail-time ( I learnt a good lesson then.) I had not long returned from Seminary after some years away from my country. Eager and zealous, I packed my car with young neighbours' children to take them to Sunday School at our assembly ( 13 tiny tots big mistake.) Hustling to get them back to their families to return for regular services ( driving a little too fast.. yes I've learnt, was young LOL .) A little boy about seven yrs old riding his bike, lost control coming down a hill and fell in front of my speeding car. Thirteen children in the car, the car "froze" all the children " froze" ( like a movie ) the boy got up holding on to the bonnet of my car, stared at me, picked up his bike and stood to the side. Then suddenly the car was able to drive again, Hallelujah! I have witnessed some unusual stuff and tried to " reproduce them " of sorts. I learnt from an early age that God cannot be manipulated in any form bless His Holy Name!
