Are you physically preparing by storing up food, silver and other stuff in case of a financial collapse or any other collapse? Think again!

An eye-opening article by Rory Moore.

Recently, a healthy discussion arose in regard to making physical preparations for what many are "seeing" for the near future.
If you pay attention to the mainstream news propaganda, it does not require being paranoid to be pessimistic about our financial future. The coming collapse of the now eroded-inflated bailout-dollar, the runnup in food costs, the decline in food production from drought and other causes, the looming threat of wars, and the possibility of persecution as the left-wing assumes almost unopposable power are all verifiable news items.
The job of a watchman, a "seer", is difficult because we "see" what others don't, or we see things before others do. Step into a nice, middle class, American church with a message of judgement and repentence and see if the good folks there dance for joy. Do you think the pastor will smile and escort the one who carries this Word to the pulpit and announce "We really need to hear this message"?
When Israel was almost as backslidden as the church of our day, God sent them prophets to warn them to change their apostate ways: And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear. -a phrase I found used 12 times by the Lord in trying to get through to the people who were called by His name.
Oh how history repeats! "The things that have been are the things that shall be, the thing that has been done is the thing that shall be done..." Ecc. 1:9
Just as there was a "last days" of the kingdom of ancient Israel, there is now a "last days" in the kingdom of Spiritual Israel. And the kingdom of Christianity is numericaly more corrupt, leavened, fragmented, and apostasized from God's Word than the Israelites we read about in scripture, including the apostate spiritual leadership over Gods' people in Jesus' day .
Just as it was before, it is now. We try and justify, sugar coat, and apply human reasoning to practices and traditions of religious Christianity that have no basis in scripture. (See the "NOT in Scripture" artice on our homepage.)
If that was not enough, many Christians are consumed by following political and economic news MORE than they do the scripture! Is it any wonder our minds and thinking get twisted up by focusing on the "oracle" of media? I bet we can come up with all sorts of excuses for that one... -and every one of them is contrary to what the Word tells us. Yes Virginia, even Christians can make an idol of the news and rumors. -And the Good News of the gospel gets shoved aside as we rush to pass on the latest information.
Where's the balance? How much time is devoted to study of what God says versus our study of the news and even the idol of entertainment? Recently the Lord awoke me in the middle of night and spoke these words:
Pursue me and I will be found, but your distractions have confounded your eyes.
Politics have distracted you, yes, they have become your lovers and where is my love?
Your possessions have possessed you, they have been your distractions, therefore I will dis-possess and remove them.
These will I purge as I purge My Bread from the leaven of your things.
Those that love the economy will fear but those that love Me will not,
therefore be purged of these also for whom I have chosen will love Me when I purge them.
For I am their Lord and I do these things.
How will God accomplish this?
Have you checked your 401k recently? Have you purchased food and have less left over for Hollywood Video? Is the cost of gasoline more than a car payment? And if that is not convincing enough, just wait and see what the new left-wing administration delivers in the form of taxation and wealth confiscation. -That is how God is doing it, right before our very eyes.
An amazing double prophecy: once for Israel, once for Spiritual Israel, 2Kings 20:17 and Isa 39:6:
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
So how may we prepare today in Babylon-USA? Should we buy gold, silver, euros, water storage, a 3 year food supply and guns and ammo to protect it like some Christian ministries advise? (completely contrary to the Word I might add).
As I was praying and meditating on this, the Lord suggested to search the phrases "lay up", "store up" "prepare" "preparation" and it is quite an eye opener. Here is the page.
Our flesh loves security, a full pantry, and a comfortable bank account, right?
Human reasoning attempts to make virtue out of "common sense prearedness", but that is actually a worldly approach and phrase, not found in God's Word.
Laying up, storing up, self-preservation, and the insurance of a storehouse full of survivalist gear are of no value when God sends persecution and judgement on His people who He desires to "live by faith". Where did Jesus, Paul, or any of the Christian writers advise material preparations?
In Acts 11, a Christian prophet, Agabus, was shown a coming famine. A good time for God to tell His people to prepare by storing up, right?
And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar Acts 11:28
In the verses that follow, not a single mention is given for "storing up" like Joseph did under Pharaoh of Egypt, even though the same circumstances were taking place, i.e., a famine. No, the Bible tells rather that relief was sent to the needy brethren by other disciples.
The church in Acts was birthed in a time when they had a few short years to prepare for both religious persecution and government persecution. Is there any word recorded for them to "lay up", or do any of the things recommended by Christian survivalists? No, not one.
Didn't God realize they would need food, clothing, shelter, diapers, and maybe some toothpaste?
Could it be when the persecution came, they were ostracized and maybe they could not even buy or sell in the marketplace back there in the book of Acts?
"And there arose on that day a great persecution against the church which was in Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles" -Acts 8:1
If those early Christians had "stored up", I wonder how much they were able to take with them and if there were any who did not leave and suffered or died needlessly protecting their "stash"?
The GOOD NEWS is that God has made preparation for us! Although we may not have the comforts we enjoy, we need "be anxious for NOTHING..." as God has promised "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." "ALL"?
What does "all" leave out?
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. -Heb 4:16.
We lay up, store up, and prepare by putting Gods' Word in our heart....
