Sabbath 1/24/15 Alfred Station SDB Church Pastor Ken sermon I Know The Plans Jeremiah 29:11-12

== == == ==

*** For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord. Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me and ye shall go and pray unto me and I will hearken unto you. ***

This chapters text deals with those things we should do in our Christian life. We will look at the scriptures that come before verses 11 and 12 first.

1) We Are in Exile:

The exile is that we, as Believers, have different standards from the world. We are waiting to get to Heaven. We are waiting to go to the other side. We are not there yet but we know that there is something better. We are in Exile, not in Heaven.

2) God Does Not Leave Us While We Are in Exile:

God told Jeremiah to write a letter to the children of Israel while they were in exile. The Lord does not leave us alone and our letter from Him is the Bible. The Bible is what we should read while we are in exile.

3) We Are to Occupy Ourselves While We Are in Exile:

God told the Israelites to build houses, get married and have families while they were in exile. God wanted them to make a home for themselves while they were in exile. God wants us to occupy while we are waiting to get to Heaven. In the book of Matthew, Jesus tells a story about a boss who gave his servants money to occupy themselves with while he went away. He came back and asked them what they did with the money while he was gone. We, as Believers, while we are in Exile, are to occupy and use our gifts God gave us.

4) Pray For the Citys Welfare While We Are in Exile:

Pray for the people around us and for the city. We are to intercede for our neighbors and the citys welfare. Once they get blessed, we can tell them God did it!

5) Be Careful Of Who You Listen To While You Are in Exile:

Be careful of who/what you listen to, what you see on the internet and what you read. Make sure it is biblically right because there will be false prophets and false doctrines. Be careful of what you and I listen to while we are in Exile.

6) Rest On Gods Sovereign Grace While in Exile (verse 11):

Sovereign means there is one who sets the rules. The King sets the rules. God has a plan for our Best. He wants the Best for us. Notice that God says there is hope for our future, the Best is for us.

7) We Are To Have a Relationship With God While We Are in Exile (verse 12):

God is saying talk to Him and He will listen to us. He promised to listen to us when we talk to Him. God says while you are in exile, talk to Him and He will listen. The God of the Universe is bending His ears to hear us, to listen to us. Thank God we can speak to Him and He will hear and listen to us.

AMEN

Hello everyone:

Whoever had spoken the so called message below, did not receive this from the Holy Spirit, for this person has no idea who this Scripture has been given to.

Most people who have spoken about this Scripture apply the contents to the so called 'church',just as this person Ken has done.

Most speaking about this Word of GOD are just like parrots, only saying what they had heard another man saying, This person Ken is no different.

Let us breakdown what Ken has said, then let us see what Yeshua has to say about this so called message

GNWS:

When did Messiah ever say that believers are 'EXILES',Yeshua never said this, those are the words of a man,not Messiah.

Messiah does tell His people to GO into the world,He does not exile them.

Mat 28:18 And coming up Jesus talked with them, saying, All authority in Heaven and on earth was given to Me.

Mat 28:19 Then having gone, disciple all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the completion of the age. Amen.

Jehovah is the one which had EXILED Israel into captivity, for the purpose that they would cry out to Him in prayer, and that Israel would seek for Him.

Jeremiah 29:10 For so says Jehovah, When according to My mouth seventy years have been fulfilled for Babylon, I will visit you and confirm My good Word to you, to bring you back to this place.

Jer 29:11 For I know the purposes which I am planning for you, says Jehovah; purposes of peace, and not for evil; to give you posterity and a hope.

Jer 29:12 Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

Jer 29:13 And you shall seek and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:14 And I will be found by you, says Jehovah. And I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, says Jehovah. And I will bring you again into the place from which I sent you into exile, from there.

This person Ken does not apply the first rule of translating, and interpreting ANY language that is to read the text of Scripture according to the ENTIRE context, which Ken has not done.

Here is the context necessary to Rightly Divide the Scripture.

Jer 29:8 For so says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your divining ones in your midst deceive you. And do not listen to your dreams which you dream.

Jer 29:9 For they prophesy falsely to you in My name. I have not sent them, says Jehovah.

Jer 29:10 For so says Jehovah, When according to My mouth seventy years have been fulfilled for Babylon, I will visit you and confirm My good Word to you, to bring you back to this place.

Jer 29:14 And I will be found by you, says Jehovah. And I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, says Jehovah. And I will bring you again into the place from which I sent you into exile, from there.

Here are a few questions necessary for 'RIGHTLY DIVIDING' the Word of GOD.

1.When did YHWH send the christians' into captivity to the land of BABYLON,

The answer NEVER,He takes the believers OUT from captivity into His freedom and peace.

This is what the Greek word 'ekklesia' means, the 'CALLED OUT ONES'.

Mat 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My CALLED OUT ONES (assembly), and the gates of Hades will not prevail against her.

The rest of the so called message from Ken is just utter nonsense.

This person does not seem to know how to read the Word of GOD According to the context,as the context reveals this Scripture pertains to Israel, and Israel alone.

2) God Does Not Leave Us While We Are in Exile:

God told Jeremiah to write a letter to the children of Israel while they were in exile. The Lord does not leave us alone and our letter from Him is the Bible. The Bible is what we should read while we are in exile.

Prov 23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Prov 21:30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

XRF

Jer 9:23-24

23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.

(KJV)
