Lev 12:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. (KJV)
This post reminds me of the time when Benny Hinn said on TBN that "Adam flew in the Garden", and "Eve gave birth through her rib cage".
Everybody knows that a woman cannot emit seed, so we can rest assured that the term "conceives seed" means, "conceives of a man's seed".
THE ORTHODOX JEWISH BIBLE READS:
"And Hashem spoke unto Moshe, saying, 2 Speak unto the Bnei Yisroel, saying, If an isha have conceived, and born a zachar, then she shall be temeiah shivat yamim; according to the yamim of the niddah (menstruation separation) for her infirmity shall she be temeiah (unclean). " Lev 12:2
It's because women give birth to sinful man that they are unclean. And if they give birth to a daughter, she will grow up & give birth to more sinful men, therefore the mother is separated a month longer.
The Bible is full of interesting stuff, isn't it? If we could truly live by the grace shown in the NT, with an understanding of what the OT pictures for us, our world would be transformed! As it will be in the Millennium, praise God!

*** I've never heard/read that perspective before and must say it makes a good bit of sense...and yup-a-roo�the Bible sure is full of interesting stuff. Ya the Grace of our LORD in the NT and the understanding of the OT is purty much where I'm at...and still waiting for the world to transform...:laugh:...I'm not holding my breath but sure am looking forward to the Glorious day...Stay a Blessing to be a Blessing !!

*** Well that is what we�ve all been told and learned�however the Hebrew Jewish commentators disagree with you on that. It is after all their Hebrew Scriptures that we get our Bible from and are discussing here. I notice the Scriptures do not say �conceives of mans seed��the Scriptures say� [[[ ]]] emphasis added for focus�
