You want what you don't have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can't get it, so you fight:boxing: and wage war :boxing:to take it away from them. Yet you don't have what you want because you don't ask God for it.

 James 4:2

People today don't have God's provision, healing, or blessing in their lives simply because they haven't asked God for it.

Many of us are going through life, missing out on many of the things God has for us. The Bible says, "You do not have because you do not ask" (James 4:2).

People pray only as a last resort, when everything else fails, after they've called all their friends and all their relatives. When no one can help them, they say, "What else can I do? All I can do now is pray." But prayer should not be a last resort. It should be our first resort, the very first way we turn.

The Lord gave us this invitation in the book of Jeremiah: "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3, NIV).

Prayer is a privilege given to the child of God. God will hear the prayer of an unbeliever who calls out to Him for forgiveness, but only a person who has put his or her faith in our God Jesus can have a prayer life. So pray with fervor. Pray with energy. Pray continually. I.e. Talk to God always. Don't give up, because you never know what God will do.

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

James 5:16

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man:angel: is powerful and effective.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he (God) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness:devil::angeldevil:.

1 Timothy 2:1-2

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness:angel: and holiness:angel:.

The Son of God says:

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

John 15:7

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person:angel: has great power as it is working.

James 5:16

21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments:angel: and do those things:angel: that are pleasing in His sight:angel:.

1 John 3

What strange doctrine is this?

God's providence, for each and every man, is exactly what each and every man is given in life. What each has, is what the Father wants for them. He rules righteously in the times of plenty and the times of famine:

27These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.

28That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

29Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Psalms 104:27-30

You are misquoting James, so that you may appear to know what you are talking about.

Here is what James wrote, all of it pertaining to this passage of scripture:

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."

They were "asking amiss" wrote James.

James is not saying, "ye have not, because ye ask not", but that 'people are asking for things that are not to be asked for', because they desire it, therefore "they have not because they are not asking according to what the Father desires for each to have."

The Holy Bible says:

1What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? 2You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. 3You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives:devil::angeldevil::buddies:, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

It is clear that we do NOT have cuz of two reasons:

(1) we do not ask God.

(2) we ask with wrong motives.
