The context of this verse starts a few verses before, remember context,
context, context, when reading the Word of GOD.
Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those once having been enlightened, and having tasted of the heavenly gift, and becoming sharers of the Holy Spirit,
Heb 6:5 and tasting the good Word of God, and the works of power of a coming age,
Heb 6:6 and having fallen away, it is impossible for them again to renew to repentance, crucifying again for themselves the Son of God, and putting Him to open shame.
The question here is this:Can a person go from being saved, trusting Yeshua to save them from the wrath of GOD against their 'UNBELIEF' (All of mans sins have already been judged because of Calvary);to be an unbeliever.
IF this is possible then Yeshua would have lied when He said that He did not lose ANY the Father had given to Him.
John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
John 10:28 And I give eternal life to them, and they shall not perish to the age, never! And not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand.
John 10:29 My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck out of My Father's hand.
John 10:30 I and the Father are One!
IF a person could go from being saved to being lost, then how would that person be saved AGAIN,seeing Yehsua had gone to the cross ONLY ONE TIME.
This person would need a different type of salvation with another saviour,as Messiah went to the cross only one time.
I think the bible makes it clear that a person who really falls away cannot be renewed by repentance. A person like that would be in entering into the state of Satan himself. Lucifer was perfect, he knew God, dwelt in His presence, and yet directly rebelled against Him and deceived others. It is impossible Satan to be renewed, just like it would be for someone who is truly converted to be renewed. Someone in that state knows full well that what they choose to do will put Christ to open shame, and they do it anyway. It's be like a adulterous spouse who was forgiven, and after receiving that forgiveness with joy, later chooses to reject their partner yet again for another.
Paul was clearly concerned by this, not only for himself, but for those he shared the gospel with.
1 Corinthians 9
24Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
This is all really solely God's realm, as we cannot see who is "really" saved or not, so it's basically a personal admonition to remain faithful and endure until the end. I think that believing that one can never fall is a dangerous mentality, perhaps not for some, but for the general body of believers, it can and does lead to lukewarm believers. God knows who will be saved, but we do not.
I see that you have not checked into the Greek Scriptures for the truth,as most people will only know what has been told to them by a 'pastor' or some other titled man.
Please look into the Greek Scriptures and do you own translating to find the truth about ALL things.
Ummm...It appears the Gent has been spooked off...deactivated...maybe before Jumping in to tell all how to believe one might wanna read the profile...I did...He wasn't sure what his denom is ??... xo
Really ???......GOD looks into everything...Your excuse of Its a man thing is really just your excuse to avoid what I shared......My point is that the manner in which some here just jump all "over" the person before getting to know them...its like...Do as I say and not as I Do...Ouch...no wonder Gandi said..."I Like your Christ...I do not like your Christians"...xo
Yepper.i agree with Ghandi about the christian thing.
When someone asks a question to me, i do not believe that it is necessary to go thru asking a lot of questions in order to know the person before answering.
I suppose that any person asking that question maybe because he had concerns. The very fact that he was asking shows me he has not fallen away. Scripture makes it clear that God turns them who fall away over to a reprobate mind.
Rom 1.28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (KJV) reprobate mind = rejected, worthless, castaway
II Th 2.10-12
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because the received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (delusion to stray from orthodoxy or piety)
12 That they might be damned who believe not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (sentenced, condemned, judged)
Im sorry that young man left. I hope we are all praying to bind him to Gods will and that he learns the truth of that scripture.
Satan is injecting fear into the brethren. He is putting that scripture along with the one of blaspheming the holy spirit in our minds. Hes a liar!!
We must abide in the faith and help those along that are of little understanding.
I hope we dont want to be right for self righteousness but for teaching the truths of scripture to help our fellow brothers and sisters along in the faith.
A reprobate resists the only cure for sin, Jesus. And thus completes the journey of a reprobate. They step into the horrible land of the living damned.
God help me to never start down the steps on the journey of a reprobate! God help us all!!
