Spiritual poverty is a miserable feeling of soul-emptiness before
God, an inward sinking sensation that there is nothing in our
hearts spiritually good, nothing which can deliver us from the
justly merited wrath of God, or save us from the lowest hell. To be poor in spirit, then, is to have this wretched emptiness of spirit, this nakedness and destitution of soul before God. He who has never thus known what it is to groan before the Lord with
breakings forth of heart as a needy, naked wretchhe who has
never felt his miserable destitution and emptiness before the eyes of a heart-searching Godhas not yet experienced what it is to be spiritually poor.
When are you going to throw down these books which "word merchants" have used to generate capital for the kingdom of darkness, and take unto thee the ONLY book which can teach you truth, "the Holy Bible" ALONE..?
"This book of the Law )Instruction) shall not depart out of thy mouth"
"Meditate on these things, give thyself WHOLLY to them."
You are not "giving yourself WHOLLY" to the Word of God, for the determination of what truth is. If you are not, then you are not walking in truth:
"If they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20
Boy, if this is not the "typical" nominal Christian doctrine, I do not know what it.
Why is it that Christians only think in terms of "the wealth system of Babylon"...?
Aren't you aware, that there are "TWO KINGDOMS" mentioned in the scripture?
This verse is not speaking of how much wealth you have in your spirit, it is talking about "being powerless"; it os speaking of "humility". It should read,
"Blessed are those "lacking confidence in one's own ability to accomplish an end", "helpless in themselves", "powerless".
This is is no way, Donna, talking about "wealth and poverty". If anything it is demonstrating the contrasting aspects of "humility" and "pride", which are the natures of the carnal and godly men.
The man of pride, is not aware the humility by which a wise man is to live life. The man of pride, for example, thinks that he (she) may shape their life as they see fit. They actually think such things as, ""they have a choice". They believe themselves to have power to shape their lives.
The humble man, on the other hand, knows that he is but dust, and unless the Father had given him all things, he would be powerless.
