Hebrews 3 (ESV)
Jesus Greater Than Moses
3 Therefore, holy brothers,[a] you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, 2 who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God's[b] house. 3 For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Mosesas much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4 (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) 5 Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, 6 but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.[c]
A Rest for the People of God
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,
Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for forty years.
10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.
11 As I swore in my wrath,
They shall not enter my rest.
12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called today, that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said,
Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.
16 For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.

IMO where the problem lies with many is they do not believe that that the author of Hebrews (my personal opinion is Paul) is referring to Christians when he gives us he warning not to fall into the sin of unbelief.
The Jews did not enter the promise land because of the bad report of the ones lacking the faith to believe they could conquer the giants of the promised land. For us conquering the promise land is when the dominion over our minds and bodies is done through the Holy Spirit and not of ourselves.
Todays pastors teach their flock it is impossible to conquer sin and for us to just do the best we can. Unfortunately they have yet to learn for themselves how Christ who cannot sin can be fully formed in us........ therefore they cannot teach it
Those who try to maintain control through discipline to the laws of God fare no better than the jews who could not fulfill the law. However, Christ is not just the tree of life but is the vine who when fully mature in us does what vines do and kills the host tree. In us the "host tree" is descended from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil representing the mind (soul) of man still at odds with God

Jesus is called the Son of David 17 times in God's Word. Jesus says "I am the lion of the tribe of JUDAH {Rev 5:5}and the ROOT and OFFSPRING of DAVID {Rev 22:16}. God's Wor d says salvation is of the Jews and God inspired 40 Jews to write all the inspired words of the OT and NT.
Romans 11:25-29: I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of Gentiles has come in {See Rev 7:9-15} And so ALL Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come from Zion; He will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins." As for as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account. but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs {Moses, Abraham, David etc etc}for God's gifts and His call are irrevocable!!
Zechariah 13:8,9: "In the whole land," declares the Lord, "two-thirds will be struck down and perish; yet 0ne-third will be left in it. This thrid I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like gold. They will call on My Name and I will answer them; I will say, 'They are My people,' and they will say, 'the Lord is our God!'"
It is estimated that their are presently about 20,000 Jews who are presently saved. There are presently about 13 1/2 million Jews and 1/3 would be 4,500,000 Jews who will be saved including 144,00 Jews {See Rev 7:4-8} during the 1260-day great Tribulation just before the 2nd coming of Jesus after a great multitude of Gentiles from every nation and language has been saved and the full number of Gentiles have come in as per Rev 7:9-15!!

There is only one Israel who is defined as "God's firstborn Son" of which there only one who is a many member body made up of those who through the blessing of Pentecost have the seed that is Christ in them risen alive.
Now it needs to mature into the image and likeness of the tree of life it originally came from
Luke 13:32
And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
