Matthew 13:18-23 The Parable of the sower means when anyone hears the Word and either don't understand it, have no root in themself or is still in the cares of the secular world, the Word does not stay with them 1) The Confused Heart vs 19: This is the heart that doesn't understand and the evil one snatches away the Word. Its a fast food relationship. If Jesus doesn't get it into us quick, Satan knows he can come and snatch it up. We have to slow down in life, to be really settled so we can understand the Word. Slow down to let the Word of God sink in. Just Chill! Let it lodge into us. Don't get a hard heart either. Stay soft hearted so that we will accept the Word. The church also has the respondsibility to have a atmosphere of love so people will receive the Word easier. The congregation that feels loved will understand the Word and accept the Word better. 2) The Rocky Heart vs 20: The seed fell on rocky places, had no root and when trouble came he quickly fell away because of the tribulations and persecutions. For us to make sure our own heart is NOT rocky, we must have Input and Application of the Word. Application also means obedience. You must input the Word and obey the Word. This must be done daily and we will grow in the Lord. The root, our root will grow deeper in the Lord. Also get some Godly Christians in our lives. They can protect us as new Christians while we get deeper roots. 3) The Tangled Heart vs 22: Worries of life and deceitfulness of riches choke the Word. We live in a pressure filled life and we need to find an internal place of peace. Don't worry, be happy. We need to trust God and know God owns it all anyway. Just start to live wisely and make wise decisions. 4) The Ready Heart vs 23: The heart is receptive and in love with Jesus. The heart can't wait to get into the Word, can't wait to go to church and loves to talk about Jesus. Hungry to grow in the Word. **We all need to pray for a Ready Heart!! Amen :prayingm: Post Reply
