2/15/09 Pastor Joey's Sermon: Don't Worry --- Four Questions to Ask.

***Matthew 6:25-34



1) Does God care about you more than the environment or the animals? YES !! Gen 1:26-27 Man is to rule over the earth and animals. Man was created in God's image and he is to be good stewards of what God has given him.



2) Does worry help you or hurt you? IT HURTS US!! vs 27 Can we by worrying add a single hour to our life? No!! Worrying about tomorrow STEALS strength from today. We get weighed down with worry and it slows us down. Every day has its own stress so don't worry about tomorrow. Worry becomes like a household pet. It just hangs around.



3) Who is first in our life? vs 33 Seek first God's kingdom and His righteouness. Put Jesus first and all things will be added. God will take care of all the things we worry about. God needs to be first! God will take care of us! God knows all our needs! God knows and cares about what we need!



4) Are you here today? Be all "here" at church, be all "here" at work. Have your whole mind and body be there at that moment. Don't worry! Be all there and don't be distracted with worry.



The Pressure is Off!! God will take care of us !! Worrying is like a virus that we have to combat everyday. God needs our best in worship today. Dont worry in church or anywhere else.



+++++++ Action Steps To Do:



1) Know that God knows, cares and will meet our needs.



2) Wherever we are, be all there. This has to be important in our life.



3) Spend time with God. IPeter 5:7 Cast all your cares on Him. Read Psalms and Proverbs to stop the worrying.



The Word of God will lift us up!!

Trust Jesus with all our worries and place Him first.
