2/8/09 Pastor Joey's Sermon: ASK !

Matt 7:7-12, Luke 19:10, James 1:15, Matt 26:40, Rev 3:20



Ask: Matt 7:7-12 God is asking us to commune with Him. God wants us to respond to him. He wants us to ask more of Him. Respond!!



Seek: Luke 19:10 Jesus came to us to Seek us, to Save us. Jesus is knocking at our door. He wants us to respond to him and open the door for Him. Jesus wants us to serve him. Jesus wants us to step over the line to be with him

in a perfect relationship with God.



Rev. 3:20 Behold Jesus is standing at our door and is knocking. We need to open it up. Open up our hearts to Him. Open our hearts and minds to Jesus.



Things that we can ask of God and GET IT!!



1) Passion: We can ask for more passion for God and his Word and Jesus. Our love for God should be a passion for him. We should be WHITE HOT!!



2) Desire to Please: We can ask God for the desire to please Him. Jesus will give it to us. God wants our desire to please him to be WHITE HOT!!



3) Humility: We can ask God to make us humble before Him. We are all here because God wants us to be here. Apart from God we can do NOTHING!! So, we need to be humble and give God ALL the credit and ALL the glory to Him.

IT ALL COMES FROM GOD!!



4) Wisdom: James 1:15 We need to ask for wisdom and God will give it to us. We just need to ask for it.



5) Courage: We need to ask for courage and God will give it to us. We just need to ask for it.



6) Love One Another: We need to ask God to help us love one another. This includes those "creatures" at work. They are people too so love them too. God does and so can we.
