How did God provide the Bible?

By writing that everything in Scripture is "God breathed,"

2 Timothy 3:16 , Paul was saying the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of the heavenly Father not some mixture of history, poetry, and narrative which God allowed to be tained by human error before reaching us.

2 Peter 1:21 emphasizes the diving origin and reliability of the Bible: "For no prophecy that is, no word given by God was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. "

Well, for the Old Testament, God literally had an entire tribe of Jews whose sole job was to copy the text and make sure it was kept accurate. We have since the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, proof that what we have is accurate.

When it comes to the New Testament it is also very simple and trustworthy.

Here are the steps from say the Apostle Paul writing it down in his own hand, to the Bible you just bought from the local Christian bookstore...........

1. The Apostle Paul writes a letter to the church at Ephesus.

2. The message is delivered, the Christians at that church read it, and accept it as the Word of God immediately.

3. It is copied over and over, and many times in different languages, and then delivered to churches all over the known world.

4. At some point in history, scholars gather up hundreds of texts and compare them and make what is called a "Critical text"

5. This Critical text is then translated into modern English and sold in your local Christian book store.

God literally chose to preserve His Word by having THOUSANDS of copies made and will still have thousand to this day.

God provided His Word to us, and MADE CERTAIN that what we have is trustworthy.

In Christ,

James

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction for training in rightousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. In these two verses, we learn who the Bible's author is, why it was written, and what it accomplishes. Verse 16 tells us all Scripture every word in both Testaments has been divenely inspired, or " God breathed"( niv). In other words, God Himself is the true author of Scripture. He planned every detail to be included, but knowing different men's background, experiences, personality, vocabulary, and style, He carefully chose human "authors" to write down His message for us.

Consider God's inexhaustible wisdom and knowledge. He knows absolutely all there is to know about every single thing in the Universe. Yet out of that infinite body of knowledge, He chose to give us a finite number of books that make up the Old and New Testaments which means that in the mind of our ominscient, All-Wise God, this must be all we need.
