why do some people always half quote or misquote scripture?like saying "do not be unequally yoke" to justify racism? why do so christians see no problem in racism?just saying you believe in Jesus does not make you saved or born againgoing to church does not make anyone a christian, just like being in a garrage does not make you a car,we need to certain about salvation.

"Corinthians 6:14"

(says do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers)this is not a scripture about racism,it's about our relationship with God,it's about being holy

Unequally yoked is about our relationship with non believers.

If we are Christian we should not go into business or marry an Unbeliever. Now, some people want a spouse or court someone that are compatible to themself.

You can not make a Christian except another Race when it comes to courting or marring someone.

We just have to Love everyone as in the Love like Christ had for US.

2nd Cor 6:13 Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

2nd Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2nd Cor 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

2nd Cor 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

2nd Cor 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

2nd Cor 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

I believe this teaching is far more reaching than a christian marrying an unbeliever.

We are not to fellowship with the the world, in this context they where to separate themselves from the idol worshippers.

hi angel, someone not wanting to marry another race is not what this scripture is saying,if someone does not want to marry another race, they should not use the bible to justify it,because it is not anywhere in the bible,i would even go as far as to ask them to check their heart,to find out what the main reason is,is it fear?is it hate?if it is any of this two, then i will say thier heart is not right with God,that aside, the bible says in Revelation 22:19-20

Deuteronomy 4:2

do not add or subtruct to or from God's words

philip you are right that it says more than marraige, but it does not mean people of different races should not marry,God looks at the heart, not at the outward appearance or colour of a person,,for the bible says we must be holy because God is holy,we have to be like our father in heaven, that means we must be filled will love for all nations, not just our kind,God hates sin,not inter racial marriage :dancingp:

A woman can love a man of any race, with the love of Christ.

She does not have to desire to marry that man of another race. And, that would not be a Sin or not loving him.

Just because you choose someone of the same race for your mate, does not mean that they are in Sin. And, need to

check themself. Maybe to that woman, that would be Unequally Yoked relationship.

Your response makes it sound like she would be in Sin if she Declined to marry in another race.

People in the OT married people of their same race or tribe

it was customary not to marry out of your race for certain tribes.

Christians should marry ONLY christian no matter which race they have.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:28

People in the OT :ROFL:married people of their same race or tribe

it was customary not to marry out of your race for certain tribes.

Jews!!!!!! married people of their same race or tribe

it was the ORDER of God not to marry out of their race for certain tribes. Why? because other people worshiped the false gods and their beliefs could destroy the faith of Jews.

hello angel, you are right about a woman and a man can choose to marry whoever they want to marry,it's free will,God gave us all that, what is wrong is when we chooce before we fall inlove to exclude other races, also when when we try to justify our colour preference by misquoting scripture or taking scripture out of context, this is seriously wrong,,

Angel my dear, the OT has examples of mix marraiges, 'Joseph and his wife, Moses and his wife, ,Naomi's sons, Boaz and Ruth, David and the Queen of sheba, there are others too.

You see my dear, God has always been after the human heart, not colour. :)
