"In an audible voice?" the doubter pressed. "No, in a still small voice that I hear with my heart." "How do you know it's Him and not someone else?" "Years of listening," the believer answered. A woman wasn't sure that God heard her prayers. She asked Him to speak to her. "What should I do with my life?" she asked. "Visit the sick," God answerered. "Help the poor, live in peace." Startled to hear God reply quickly, she mutterd,"I...I was only testing." "So was I," God returned. We are so intent on what we want that we don't hear what God wants. Spiritual listening requires stillness, faith and obedience. Real communication mandates pauses to let the other party get a word in edgewise. He who hsas ears to hear, let him hear! I picked up a young man hitch hiking one day, and he was pretty troubled ab out a brother of his and I was encouraging him on how easy it was to hear from the lord and all of sudden he light up it sure is he said because he just talked to me about you and my brother, and the young man was not even saved, he was excited when he got out of the Car.
