Mt 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
Mr 1:10 And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:

It is not readily know that Jesus was anointed as an old testament Prophet, and this is what happened in these scriptures The Holy Spirit came upon Jesus and anointed him, endues him with the power from on high.
This is where Jesus ministry began and it is vitally important to understand he did no mighty works until he was anointed by the Holy Ghost.
Religion has all kinds of opinion's why Jesus did what he did, while he was upon the earth but in essence he came to destroy the works of the devil, and that was what he was doing every time he preached and taught, revealing the perfect will of the father for man, and as the second Adam he fulfilled his mission in redeeming mankind from the power of the prince of Darkness.
Remember it was by the Holy Spirit:
Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Lu 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Mt 11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
