They are not cultural, in the sense that they reflect cultural values and principles. They are cultural in the sense that the words and phrases that are used are understood in that culture of the day.



This is why when you study the Bible you need to understand the culture of that day, and understand what it would mean to them at that time.

The Epistles were written as any Letter would be (in the Vernacular of the Writer) and thus were certainly Cultural.



All of Scripture is Inspired by The Holy Spirit�Not DICTATED by The Holy Spirit. There is a Difference. The Holy Spirit did not say



�Write this Down�.



Each writer wrote using their own words and form of Speech. Of course they conformed to the Culture of the Day. That is why we have to be careful when we say things like



�if it is not in Scripture��



But Yes�it was written for the Culture of that Time.

So then aif it was written according to the culture of the time, this begs the following question; WHAT IS SCRIPTURE.
