Is God omnipresent?Posted : 28 Jul, 2011 08:09 AMDoes God know everything we're doing, everywhere, all-the-time? Using an old experiment from quantum physics (Young's et al.) I think we can scientifically prove He isn't. |

Is God omnipresent?Posted : 28 Jul, 2011 09:19 AMHebrews 4:12,13: "For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the **THOUGHTS** and **ATTITUDES** of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. **EVERYTHING** is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." |

Is God omnipresent?Posted : 28 Jul, 2011 10:33 AMBy Him creation consists. "For by him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created by him and for him" (Col. 1:16). How many Christians ever think of Christ as the One "by whom all things are created," as Colossians puts it; "by whom all things were made: as John puts it; "by whom God made the worlds," as Hebrews put it? Why did God make the universe, anyway? He made it that one day Christ might be all in all, that one day, from tiniest electron to mightiest planet, it might glorify Jesus. Scientists cannot give the reason for the universe: Christ is the reason. Creation is now enslaved in corruption, but one day it will display the glory of Christ, the bondage of sin will be broken, the Sons of God be manifested. And Christ not only created the universe and is its object but He sustains it now. The very existence of each of us, to say nothing of our salvation, depends on Him. Without Him the universe would fall apart. |

Is God omnipresent?Posted : 28 Jul, 2011 03:00 PMAppreciate everyone's replies and your thoughts. But I didn't see any actual proof to the contrary re: Young's experiment. Maybe I am looking to quantify God, but for me I have great difficulty believing in something that can't be proven empirically. The faith I once enjoyed as a child vanished a long time ago and now it's all about the evidence. Young's experiment would seem to indicate that there can be a lack of an observer PROVING God is not omnipresent. I believe He exists, I just don't believe He's omnipresent since the evidence indicates as much. If you have actual evidence via science or something that'd be enough to convict and execute someone lemme hear all about it. But of the numerous verses cited, I see nothing of that strength as yet. |

Is God omnipresent?Posted : 28 Jul, 2011 03:26 PMThat's a really great turn of phrase, "I found what I had lost as a Child for I was not seeking as a Child." Good enough to make my Notes file. :) |
