Admin	Biblical Qualities and Characteristics When Seeking A Godly Man/Husband Posted : 22 Jul, 2011 02:48 PM A few Biblical qualities and characteristics to look for when seeking a Suitable Mate for marriage. Based on the man's role as priest and headship of his wife and household : I Timothy chapter 3; Proverbs Chapters 1-20 1. A godly man/husband is a holy man of prayer, diligent in the study of God's Word, and is in submission and fear of the Lord in humility under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. 2. A godly man/husband is blameless with a good reputation in the home, community, and the church. 3. A godly man/husband is a sober minded thinker in wisdom and knowledge, humble, of good behavior and of hospitality, is a giver, forgiving, kind, and friendly toward others. 4. A godly man/husband has sound knowledge of God's holy Word, he is wise, and is able to teach in the home, instruct and lead his wife and family according to God ways, he is spirtual minded.. 5. A godly man/husband is not a drunkard of strong alcohol, or wine, or beer, saves and spends money wisely, is a hard worker. 6. A godly man/husband is not an emotional, mental, spiritual, financial, or physical abuser of his wife or family, he is a good steward in all things, nor is one who is violent, or causes fights, or is a trouble-maker. 7. A godly man/husband is respectful, faithful to Gd and his woman/wfie, honest, trust-worthy, patient, diligent, has integrity, is sincere, and is true to God, his wife, and himself, has a positive out look on things, he is a promise keeper. 8.A godly man/husband is not a gambler, a liar, or greedy for money, has good judgment, makes good decisions, is determined, a strong spiritual leader of his home. 9. A godly man/husband is one who seeks godly counsel in things he does not understand, he receives corrections, even from his wife, and gives godly counsel to others. 10. A godly man/husband is a man of peace, and seeks peace, joy, and good laughter in his home. 11. A godly man/husband is sexually pure in his relationship/marriage. 12. A godly man/husband is not jealous, has a teachable spirit in the things he does not know or understand, good listener and hearer and follows godly instructions. Question: Do you fit these qualifications of a wsie godly man fit to be a husband according to what God has declared as the qualities and characteristics of such? Post Reply

I have never really thought of myself as as godly man, yet that feels right...it pretty rare for me to say "man of God"...its more along the line of "servant of Jesus Christ". bless, michael Post Reply
