I don't know if you just wanted to hear from the guys, but I would say you are doing what is necessary to overcome evil. Submit to G-d, and the enemy will flee. He has given us all power to trample on serpents and scorpions. G-d is more powerful than the enemy or any evil spirit so therefore, they have no legal authority in your life, unless you have an open door of entry that they can legally harass you, which is usually sin, ?unforgiveness.
GOD HAS PROMISED IN JEREMIAH 29:13: YOU WILL FIND ME WHEN YOU SEEK ME WITH **ALL YOUR HEART**.�

I was just wondering, how do you all deal with Spiritual oppression from the enemy and his forces?
*** Prayers are Important always...I've been taught and have learned that when oppression hits me a brother or sister that Speaking God's word from scripture Outloud is the most Powerful and Effective Weapon against the attacker...:devil:...remember when Jesus was being tempted...He said..."It is Written" and then Spoke the Scripture...the Word...this is the Sword of the Spiritual Armour...xo
I didn't read a lot of the other responses. Your question relates to a spiritual reality. you deal with spiritual issues with spiritual tools, weapons if you will. you deal with mental issues with mental tools, weapons...get it? mind and thought issues are dealt with by putting on the mind of God, his thoughts..the bible.
Spiritual issues are dealt with by operating the manifestations of the spirit. God can only work with where you are in your walk, like at any moment in time......you sensed oppression, external oppression...well it was there... do you think you are going to deal with it? Unlikely. What will most likely occur is that you can deal with it mentally for only so long and then you walk away. If it is available to deal with it directly, then you can only deal with it by word of wisdom.
So, dude, speak in tongues, associate yourself with other mature Christians who operate the manifestations accurately. Its unlikely anybody in mainstream Christianity will be able to teach you anything...if you need some help in this area, contact me and I will send you a link or two to get you started...

I Corinthians 14:1-4,19,22-25: Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. But everyone who prophecies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophecies edifies the church....
But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others then 10,000 words in a tongue...
Tongues, then, are a sign,not for believers but for unbelievers, prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers. So if the whole church comes together and everybody speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, God is really among you!"
Prophecy is desired in the body due to the fact that the use of Prophecy alone in the Body indicates everyone present speaks in tongues...prophecy is nothing more than speaking in tongues with interpretation without the speaking in tongues part....
You said it yourself, speaking in tongues with interpretation is a sign to unbelievers of the presence and power of God.
AGAIN...the manifestations of the spirit, not the gifts of the spirit....see the problem is the kings james translation...the "another one" is better translated "each one"....ALL the manifestations are available to every believer...its like a spiritual swiss army knife... tools...yet even at that...the better way is the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation...so, if you desire to operate the manifestations, then God is very, very willing to teach you..if you don't desire to operate the manifestations, God can't help you understand the spiritual battle, except in a very, very limited way.......
River shared ~ when I go through that, I go back to scripture and everything God says I am. I declare those things with scripture over my life. The devil is a liar! you declare who God's says you are. Memorize those scriptures, post them on your wall where you pray.
