Deuteronomy 18:17-22: The Lord said to Moses, "I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in His mouth and He will tell them everything I command Him {See John 14:24b,31}. If anyone does not listen to My words that the Prophet {Jesus}speaks in My name, I myself will call him to account. But a prophet who presumes to speak in My name anything I have not commanded him to say must be put to death. You may ask yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?" If what a prophet claims does not take place or come true, that is a message that the Lord has not spoken."
Rev 22:16,18,19: Jesus says, I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give *YOU* {The Greek for YOU is plural} this testimony {ALL OF REVELATION} *FOR* the CHURCHES. This contradicts the ridiculous pre-trib idea that Revelation, chapters 4-19, was not written *FOR* the CHURCHES! The word CHURCHis also not mentioned in 9 books of the NT: John, Mark, Luke, 2 Tim, 1 John, 2 John, 1 Peter, 2 Peter and Jude; and is not mentioned in the first 15 chapters of Romans and yet every word in all these NT books are FOR THE CHURCHES..... I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone *ADDS* anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book {Including eternal torment in Hell}. And if anyone *TAKES WORDS AWAY* from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city which are described in this book.
So an OT prophet who speaks something in God's name that does not take place must be put to death according to OT Law. And a prophet who predicts something in God's name that does not take place in the NT is guilty of an unpardonable sin.
It is not only the Jehovah's Witnesses who have made false prophecies concerning the rapture of God's saints. There have also been four well-known pre-trib evangelicals who have falsely predicted the day of the rapture starting with Pat Robertson in 1982.
Pat Robertson claims to be an evangelical even though he teaches the Prosperity Gospel and believes he has the miraculous gift of the Word of Knowledge. Pat Robertson prophesied that the rapture must take place by 1982.
There have also been two mainstream pre-trib evangelicals who made a lot of money on books that predicted that the Rapture would take place in 1988. Hal Lindsey {1988} and Edgar Whisenant {1988 and also 1989, 1993, 1994 & 1997}
In 1992, a pre-tribber named Harold Camping published a book titled '1994?' in which he claimed have figured out that Sept. 6, 1994, would be the time of the Lord's return. Once that date failed, he reset his countdown calendar six more times:
* Sept. 15, 1994, the Day of Atonement
* Sept. 25, 1994, the Feast of Tabernacles
* Oct. 4, 1994, the "actual" birthday of Jesus that Camping calculated
* Dec. 25, 1994, the traditional celebration of Christmas
* Feb. 25, 1995, the Jewish Feast of Purim
* May 3, 1996, the result of (Mark 13:35) extended the Sept. 6, 1994, date"
And then in 2010 Camping wrote another book which claimed that a pre-trib rapture would take place on May 21st, 2011 and then the world would end on October 21st 2011 after a 5-month Great Tribulation. Camping has been an well-respected evangelical preacher on Christian Radio for over 50 years. Camping was a Calvinistic Christian Reformed preacher who taught the symbolic view of Revelation; and then became a pre-tribber in 1992.
It is interesting to note that all of the bogus predictions of the rapture in the past generation have been by PRE-TRIBBERS such as Harold Camping {9 Times}, Pat Robertson {1982}, Hal Lindsey {1988}, and Edgar Whisenant {1988, 1989, 1993, 1994 & 1997}
Do you believe that these 4 well-known evangelicals were guilty of an unpardonable sin as per Revelation 22:18,19 above??

Hi Prophetic,
Great post! If they repent of their sins, I don't know how they could not be forgiven, except for blasphemy against Holy Ghost, does this fall into that category?
I did not predict a rapture, but spoke words that I thought were from the L-d, which has a punishment deserving of death in OT, but repented and believe I am forgiven. If G-d judges everyone different according to what I have read here lately, then he only knows a man's heart, so I don't think anyone could say one way or the other. I really thought we were all judged the same, however, recently read a post here that we are judged for the knowledge that we have and are accountable for that, so what about all the people who are deceived, are they not accountable because they were taught to believe a lie?
Harold Camping recently suffered a stroke and Ariel Sharon suffered a massive stroke after he gave up some of Israel's land. I do believe he is still laying in a coma, unless he died, but to be in a coma for several years is a form of suffering.
I do think pastors, evangelists, teachers of the word are more accountable and fall under a more severe judgement if they false teach and lead the sheep astray. I really shutter to think what will become of some of these prosperity preachers in the days ahead.:excited:

The blasphemy against the Holy Spirit which can not be forgiven, and is therefore an unpardonable sin; is a very complex problem with many great theologians in total disagreement.
However, there were 4 unpardonable sins added to God's Word in the Book of Revelation:
{1} If anyone worships the Beast {666} or his statue he will receive eternal torment in hell {NO 2nd chances} {See Rev 14-9-11} The holy spirit through God's Word could witness to this person that it is a terrible sin.
{2} If anyone receives the name of the Beast or the number of his name on his right hand or forehead he will receive eternal torment in hell. {NO 2nd chances-See Rev 14:9-11}
{3} Rev 22:19: If anyone **TAKES WORDS AWAY** from this book of prophecy, God will take away from Him his share in the holy city, which are described in this book {The New Jerusalem}. And if you don't get into the New Jerusalem you have 3 guesses as to where you are going!
{4} Rev 22:18 "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone **ADDS** anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book {Which would include eternal torment in hell as per Rev 14:10,11; 19:20; 20:10}
If someone teaches something in Revelation that he knows is wrong yet teaches this because it is popular or for some other selfish reason it probably is an unpardonable sin with no second chances. But if someone just believes what others have taught him about Revelation and does not know it is wrong it is probably not an unpardonable sin.
