Genesis 1: 28 says "And God blessed them (Adam and Eve) and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply..."
But the ruling elite, which is mostly the financial elite at the top, as well as leaders of the New Age Occult movement, the environmentalists,
and the satanists want a large reduction in the population of the world. They want a large reduction as well in the American population.
One way of more slowly reducing the population is to find ways to reduce the birth rate. Some of the ways the elites have been using or allowing
to reduce the birth rate, at least in the U.S. and Europe, involve nutrition, environmental pollution, toxins, reduction in income, and even pornography.
The birth rate dropped considerably in the U.S. after about 1929 with the Great Depression, because people didn't have the money to support
larger families then. A number of factors have caused the heterosexual relationship to be messed up in this country - and pornography may be helping to mess it up for many..
The American birth rate has been dropping since about 1964, the last year of the great Baby Boomer surge in the U.S. birth rate.
"The average sperm count... of men in the United States and Europe has plummeted by more than 50 percent since the late 1930s, according to a recent analysis by University of Missouri epidemiologist Shanna Swan. The finding fuels ongoing concerns that male reproductive health may be deteriorating, and that environmental pollutants...the substances and conditions, including noise, that adversely affect the health and well-being of the people within a community. may be the cause.
Based on 61 studies published since 1938 - involving a total of nearly 15,000 subjects - Swan found that average sperm counts among healthy American men have dropped from 120 million sperm per milliliter of semen in 1938 to just over 50 million/ml in 1988, a decline of 1.5 percent per year. In Europe, sperm counts have fallen to roughly the same level, though twice as fast, by 3.1 percent each year between 1971 and 1990. "
Probably American and European sperm counts have dropped more since 1988 and 1990.

Currently, endocrine-disruptive activity has been demonstrated for roughly 60 chemicals, though only a tiny fraction of the estimated 80,000 manufactured chemicals in use today have been screened for endocrine-disrupting effects. These common chemicals include certain pesticides, like endosulfan, an organochlorine insecticide. See chlorinated hydrocarbons., the most widely used insecticide in North America; components in plastics, detergents, cosmetics, and fabrics; and other industrial products and by-products. While many of the chemicals now known to disrupt reproductive and hormone systems have been banned in the industrial world, their use continues grow in developing nations."
The overall health of men age about 20 to 45 or so, when most men father children, is most likely a factor in the sperm count and in sperm function. Overweight, poor diet, and lack of exercise probably contribute to a lower sperm count and activity. These same factors - overweight, poor diet, lacking in nutrients, and lack of exercise - interestingly also contribute to the dumbing down of the population, another outcome the elite has desired. A dumbed down population is easier to rule over.

And it was a few years later that abortion became legal. My bet is that the birth rate dropped because of abortion more so than because of a drop in sperm count. Add to that the fact that many don't want large families anymore and one can see a dramatic drop in births.
I looked at the data on number of births in the U.S. since 1964, the birth rate since then and the birth rate going back to 1910, as well as the number of abortions in this country after 1973 when abortion was made legal.
The U.S. birth rate per 1,000 population was 30.1 in 1910. It never got that high again even during the Baby Boomer years from 1946 to 1964, reaching a high of 25.3 in 1957. The birth rate really has not dropped that much since the early seventies where it was at about 14 to 15, and even rose in the late eighties to 16.7 in 1990.
In the first decade of the 21st century the rate has been around 14.
Abortion rates shot up drastically from 1973 to about 1980 and then began a decline.

They say "Here�s the data for 2003: So abortions account for 23.2 percent of all known pregnancies."
"The Guttmacher Institute... found that 22.4 percent of pregnancies resulted in an abortion in 2008."
But a 22 or 23 or higher percentage in earlier years of pregnancies ending in abortion is a reason why when the Baby Boomers began to retire in mass, there will not be enough younger workers to pay into Social Security to support them. No wonder God is going to judge this country soon.
