Are you really born-again, saved, or going to heaven?

WELCOME TO THE FORUM RECYCLER...
EVERYBODY WANTS TO GO TO HEAVEN BUT NOBODY WANTS TO DIE... not even to their old sin nature and be filled with the Holy Spirit and cleansed and made righteous before a Hoy God.
Jesus says they honor HIm with thier mouth but their hearts are from Him... And in that day, they will come and speak about all thier good words, and He will ask them where are you from? and who are you?... and then He will tell them to get away from Him you workers of wickedness.
Many people confess and profess Jeus Christ but they really don't KNOW HIm on a personal level thorugh the power of the born again experience of the Holy Spirit... old sin nature still is in place, and pride and rebellion and resisting the cleansing of the Holy Spirit prevent them from taking on the new spiritual nature of Jesus Christ.
Jesus say, search the scriptures because in them you THINK you have eternal life... what most Christian don't know is that our eternal life and salavtion is found in Jesus Christ, the scritpures are holy and point us to Him, they bear witness and testfy of and about Him, and when we allow the scriptures to change us we take on Jeus Christ in righteousness and follow HIs path to eternal life which through Jesus is our salvation.

Wow, I am impressed with your view point.
I didn't expect anyone to get that close to what I was aiming at that quickly.
I think you were quoting some from the right book and chapter, but from a version other than the King James.
Though you didn't quite nail it as I think we need too, I see you probably understand it.
I was aiming at Mathew Chapter 7.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Satan has so many caught up in the faith works controversy and much of the church is actually preaching lies because they are even deceived, but it is so simple.
Yes we are saved by grace not works lest any man boast, because pride is the thing God hates.
But we are saved to works or the fruit which is living to do Gods will or we are not saved.
Many preach all you have to do is confess Jesus as Lord and you are saved. But you can see here Jesus said many will say Lord, Lord and as He shows, they will even think they were serving Him and He will say depart to hell.
We actually have to be doing Gods will to go to heaven.
That means we have to put His will ahead of what we want or our will.
Sin or rebellion is living for our own will or pleasure. The opposite of that is complete surrender or submission.
That is the meaning or purpose of life. That is what we are here to learn. It is all around us in creation and nature. We cannot change Gods truth. We can only learn to submit to it or die. We cannot fight gravity for instance.
There is an old Hymn about Perfect Submission.
Submission to love or righteous authority is a good thing. We must submit to be served and to serve.
We must submit to a waiter if we want him to serve us. What would happen if we went in the kitchen and tried to take over and get our way? We would get thrown out.
And as you said we must die to be saved by dying to our own will, self, pride or flesh. And we will know we are doing that daily by our fruit, works, or the fact that we are doing Gods will instead of what we want.
I pray this helps someone.
Freely share it with anyone you wish.
I also wrote a Christian e-book and some poems that I will share for free with anyone who wants them.

You've spoken a good word Larry, many will hear what you have said , and many will not, just as they did with Jesus and He wlaked amng them and many still did not believe...
But as I always tell people in my ministry, God has never told us as believers to MAKE anybody do anything. He has commanded us to Go and preach and teach, and warn them about Jesus and eternal glory. and the option of hell eternal damnation . GO...to the lost, backslidders, and those who have a form of godliness and know they are not living right before a holy God.
But we cannot find anywhere in His word wherein He has commanded us to MAKE them hear or listen or see with their eyes the truth about their salvation. Even God said He has out forth His hadn day and night trying to help somebody trun around, He sent the prophets and they were killed, and He sent His Son, and they killed Him, and He sent the apostles and they killed them and ran them off....so once we as believes have done our part to the best of our abilities to obey His command to GO, that's alll we can do. And we must leave the rest to God through the power of His Holy Spirit to do His work as John says in chapter16, the works of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world of their sins, of righteousness and of judgment of sins.
And as my mom use to tell us as kids acting up even as teenagers, when we wouldn' not listen in obedience, she would say to us, "If I can't make you obey, but God can... and if He can't make you do the right thing, then I look like a fool trying..."
Its sad, but true, many will hear and many will not, many think they've got it right and many don't even know what is right, because of pride which hides truth, this is why God hates pride, it covers truth and a person who has more than thier shre never sees the light of their sins as God sees them.
