O/T only does the word prosperity occure. These verses are pulled out of context but they are fascinating none the less...maybe the New Prosperity Jesus is all about is the Blessings His Holy Spirit bestows upon His children...Spiirtual and Material necessaties...What Yall think ???

Prosperity was part of the OT Covenant but the *NEW** NT Covenant is totally against the Prosperity Gospel:

Jesus says to His disciples "Teach them to obey **EVERYTHING** I commanded" in Matt 28:20.
John 14:23,24: Jesus says, "If anyone loves Me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love Me will not obey My teaching."
I John 2:3-5: We know that we have come to know Him {Jesus} **IF** we obey His commands. The man who says, "I know Him," but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His Word, God's love is truly made complete in Him.
IS THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL THE GOSPEL OF SATAN??

James 5:15 "Now listen you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming upon you. Your wealth has rotted and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the Last Days...You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. Matthew 6:24: Jesus says, "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money!"
I Timothy 2:9,10: "I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God."
I Timothy 6:6-10: "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Prophet according to you food of this world is no Good, oh brother, listen if satan is lord don't worry you have nothing to say, for nobody can be saved, according to you, amazing you would exalt Satan over the lord, and do it publicly.
Did the early saints practice the Prosperity Gospel??
Acts 2:44,45: "All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need."
Acts 4:32,34: " All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had... There were no needy persons among them. Exodus 20:12 Honor your father & your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Isn�t this a promise of long life & prosperity? And isn�t prosperity subjective? I see it wrong to say that poor people in Asia are not prosperous because you never know. From someone�s profile on here I read this line which I strongly agree: � That man is richest whose pleasures are the cheapest.�
I believe there are a lot more people having less feeling prosperous and have peace than people who have more feeling less prosperous, chasing more wealth he could not spend in his lifetime and have no peace of mind. I believe no matter what the circumstance is, there is prosperity and peace of mind in God�s presence. What is pleasing, beautiful, good, godly, think about such things.
Again you are quoting OT Scripture to confirm the Prosperity Gospel. Do you have and NT Scripture under the New Covenant that contradicts the teaching of Jesus to the rich , prosperous man in Matthew 19:21 to "sell all your possessions and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven and *THEN* come follow Me."

Surely the Prosperity Gospel as taught by Osteen and many others is the Gospel of Satan and contradicts the Teachings of Jesus and the New Covenant.
The truth is taught by those that believe,those that do no not believe are not capable of teaching, and you have and do continually give place to satan with your words. The old Covenant is not obsolete, amazing statement.
