God tells us to avoid foolish jesting. What is foolish jesting? Are insults and sarcasm in the same category? Are not all three a sin?

Here you go James - King James Version Ephesians chapter 5:verses 1-18

1.Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2.And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

3.But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4. Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6.Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7.Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9. (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10.Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

18. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.

Ephesians 5

New International Version (NIV) Ephesians chpater 5: verses 1-18

1. Follow Gods example, therefore, as dearly loved children 2. and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3 .But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for Gods holy people.

4. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

5. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy personsuch a person is an idolaterhas any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a]

6. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things Gods wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7. Therefore do not be partners with them.

8. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

9. (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

10. and find out what pleases the Lord.

11. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

12. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.

13. But everything exposed by the light becomes visibleand everything that is illuminated becomes a light.

14. This is why it is said: Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

15. Be very careful, then, how you livenot as unwise but as wise,

16. making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

17. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lords will is.

18. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

Well, it looks like these passages points the finger at, and speaks to everybody sins on this forum doesn't it?

Its not speaking to two or three people, but every word of this passage includes VERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE FORUM in one aspect or another!

For it is The word of God, for all the people of God, from the mouth of God ... "there is not one person (none) who is righteous... NO NOT ONE!"

Mr.Meanie

If Sarcasm is sin, then Yeshua of Nazareth was guilty of sin.

You should read the Sarcasm of Yeshua.

In the Gospel.

*** Really ?...What scriptures are Sarcastic Mr Meanie ? You must be talking about another Yeshua/Jesus...:excited:...I believe Jesus always Says what He means...Means what He Says and Never Says it Mean or Sarcastic because that goes against His Perfect Sinless Nature as GOD incarnate in the Flesh...xo

@ jude

Mat 21:23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

Mat 21:24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

Mat 21:25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

Mat 21:26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

Mat 21:27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

You have to understand the way Hebrews talk to one another.

If you watch and listen to 2 Hebrew men talking for some time,at one pont you might think they will kill each other.

Their conversations can become very heated.

This is also how some of them learn from one another.
