"**LOVE** Deeply from the Heart" I Peter 1:22
Posted : 20 Jun, 2011 06:00 AM
I Peter 1:22: "Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere **LOVE** for your brothers {And sisters}, **LOVE** one another deeply, from the heart.":rolleyes:
I Corinthians 13:2,4-8: If I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not **LOVE** I am nothing...**LOVE** is patient, **LOVE** is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. **LOVE** does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. **LOVE** never fails!!" :angel:
John 13:34: Jesus says, "A *NEW* command I give you: **LOVE* one another As I have **LOVED** you, so you must **LOVE** one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples.":rolleyes:
John 14:23: Jesus says, If anyone **LOVES** Me, he will obey My teaching, My Father will **LOVE** him, and We will make Our home with him.
Matthew 28:19.20 Jesus commands, Go and make disciples of all nations... teaching them to *OBEY EVERYTHING* I have commanded you! {See I John 2:3-5}
EVERYTHING would also include all the other commands in God's inspired Word from Acts to Revelation as per 2 Timothy 3:16: 4:2: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work...Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.
Ephesians 4:15: Speaking the Truth **IN LOVE**, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ!
If we really **LOVE** our brothers and sisters in Christ we will lovingly teach them to obey all the approximately 400 commands of the NT with **LOVE** in the hope of countless eternal rewards when Jesus comes with great power with all His angels.
Revelation 22:112: Jesus says,"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with Me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done!?
Matthew 16:27: Jesus says, For the Son of Man is going to come in His **FATHER'S GLORY WITH HIS ANGELS**{See Matt 24:30,31; 25:31-40 & 2 Thess 1:6-10}, and **THEN** He will reward each person according to what he has done.":applause:
In order to love our brothers we must first fulfill the first commandment, to love the lord thy god with all our might, all our strength and all that is within us.
I Corinthians 14:1-4,19 "Follow the way of **LOVE** and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. :angel:
Ephesians 4:11-16: For it was He {Jesus} who gives some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.....Speaking the Truth **IN LOVE**, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up **IN LOVE** as each part does its work!" :applause:
PJ said: In order to love our brothers we must first fulfill the first commandment, to love the lord thy god with all our might, all our strength and all that is within us.
Now PJ, THAT'S BIBLE!... you have said a powerful word here:applause: and many people do not get it. This is why this is the first commandment... when we love God with all our hearts, minds souls and strength, above all others including ourselves, people, places and things, all the other commandment will fall into place.
To love God first this is the greatest of all the commandments and the second commandment is like unto it, Love your neighbor as yourself, and to love God first ... all the other laws of love and obedience to God's word will fall into place. This is the total teachings of God's word throughout the BIble and there will be no breaking of the other commandments if we FIRSTLOVE GOD with all our being!... good word PJ:yay::dancingp:
John 13:34: Jesus says, "A *NEW* command I give you: **LOVE* one another As I have **LOVED** you, so you must **LOVE** one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples.":angel:
This is a far more powerful **LOVE** than the OT commandment "To love your neighbor as yourself."
Prophet, isn't loving your neighbor the same as loving one another?...yes, it is very much so. as the lawyer asked Jesus asked so who is my neighbor,... so I ask you, so who is one another?
Its all the same, Jesus just re-enforces the commandment of love your neighbor. And as PJ said, and I agree, you can't love your neighbor or one another unless you first love God with all your heart , mind, soul, and strength first accomlish this then everything else will fall into place, if we do the first things first... Love and honor God as we should.
Prophet, isn't loving your neighbor the same as loving one another?
You have forgot to add the most important words!! Actually you have forgot that Jesus says that his New command is "to love on another **AS I HAVE LOVED YOU**" which is much more powerful than loving your neighbor as you love yourself since Jesus says in John 15:9:12-14: "As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. {DIVINE LOVE which is far greater than human love!!}...My command is this: Love each other:rolleyes::glow: as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends **IF**:rolleyes: you do what I command!!" {Just as Jesus so loved us that he laid down His life for us!!}
