Posted : 13 Jun, 2011 10:48 AM "Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" 2 Thess. 2:3. A great falling away? Who falls away? The man of sin is also called the spirit of lawlessness. Today's economic tribulations may cause some to receive that spirit of lawlessness and abandon sound biblical principles like "do not steal" and choose to live for the "hear and now" instead of the "hear after." When times are tough, the tough get going but some will fall away. When Jesus comes you should not be found beating up God's servants. I can never understand why Christians are critical of other Christians. It seems to me very close to blaspheming the Holy Spirits work in someones life. Who am I to judge another. Christians should maintain a spirit of unity. But the context of this great falling away is false teachers at the end times. "suppose the servant says to himself, �My master is taking a long time in coming,� and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers," (Luke 12:45-46). View Profile History	A great falling away? Posted : 13 Jun, 2011 11:51 AM Matthew 24:3,9-13: The disciples asked Jesus, �What will be the sign of your Coming and the end of the age?? Jesus answered�.. {During the Great Tribulation} �Then *YOU* will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and *YOU will be hated by all nations because of Me. At that time many will turn away from the Faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of *MOST* will grow cold,{THE GREAT APOSTASY but he {The Called, Chosen & Faithful-Rev 17:14b} who stands firm to the End will be saved.� This great falling away or great Apostasy {NIV-Rebellion} was also prophesied in 2 Thess 2:1,3,8: "Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to Him... Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for THAT DAY will not come until the rebellion {Apostasy} occurs {See Matt 24:9-13 above} and the Man of lawlessness:devil: {666} is revealed.....{See Rev 13:5-8}. Then the lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord Jesus Christ will destroy with the splendor of His *COMING*!� So anyone who claims that the church saints will be gathered *BEFORE* the coming of the lawless one {666} is absolutely contradicting God�s inspired words!!�� This, of course, totally destroys the central pre-trib doctrine of the *IMMINENT* coming of Jesus! {That Jesus could come RIGHT NOW} Since the *COMING of Jesus in 2 Thess 2:8 is POST-TRIB then the *COMING of Jesus when *WE are gathered to Him in 2 Thess 2:3 must also be POST-TRIB since it is in the same context and obviously refers to the same day. 2 Thess 2:8-11 continues: "And then the lawless One:devil: {666} will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of His mouth and destroy by the splendor of His coming {See Rev 19:20} The coming of the lawless one:devil: will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders{See Rev 13:13-15} and in in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing... For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion." This will come as a tremendous shock for those who teach the Prosperity Gospel and who are mainly seeking earthly treasures rather than eternal Heavenly Rewards. They teach: If you accept Jesus as your Savior you have a free pass to Heaven and God forbid that you should suffer any persecution or go through the Great Tribulation; which fits in with the pre-trib doctrines which are designed to increase church membership at the expense of the Truth. When is the last time you heard a sermon on the virtues and courage of the many thousands of present-day martyrs?? And this is probably why there will be a great FALLING AWAY {NIV-Rebellion}{THE GREAT APOSTASY} at the beginning of the Great Tribulation when those unsaved in the Christian churches find out that they will not be able to buy or sell anything and that they must worship a statue of 666 or become a martyr {See Rev 13:15-17} as per Matthew 24:9-13 & 2 Thess 2:3. I'm sure it includes them, but I did not know it was all inclusive. I think the reason why christians are critical is because we have the mind of christ, however, we should offer constructive criticism, "iron sharpens iron" and speak the truth in love. I think the great apostasy includes the teachers as well as christians and involves falling away from the word of God and believing in doctrines of man which describes a lot of the churches today. I don't like to judge other believers, but I think it better to be judged now than to fall into the hands of the living God. Post Reply
