I do not believe there is an Old Covenant Scripture equivelant with this.

2Co 8:9 for ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that because of you he became poor--being rich, that ye by that poverty may become rich.

The H-W use this verse by saying:

See Christ became poor so that 'We could become Rich'

They use this verse to condone the ripping off of the masses for their own use,and pleasure.

When questioned by others, their usual repsonse is this.

'Oh don't you have faith unto this brother.

It does not take faith to rob people,it takes a greedy, hardened and despicable heart to to do this,

Especially to the poor.

Christs poverty was to empty himself and become a man.

My becoming rich,is being adopted as a child of GOD.

Mat 6:33 but seek ye first the reign of God and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you.

When we are empowered of the holy Spirit to be seeking the Kingship of GOD,then do we not also get along with Him everything that He is,does, and has.

The best understanding might be this.

Christ became a man in order that He would make me a son of GOD.

Christ though all things had been made by Him,

and for His good pleasure,Yet He did not seek anything of this life.

He did not own anything in this life,Nor was He possessed by anything in this life.

He only sought to do the will of the Father and to ONLY Please Him.

Man,creates NOTHING,he uses what has already been created in order to make things.

Man enters this world with nothing, yet he/she wants almost everything their eye can see.

Man really owns NOTHING,yet man can be possessed ,or rather obssessed with/by almost everything.

POIC,

You are sowing good seed, however it would seem you are sowing it on the hardened path trodden by one to many TBN'ers.....

really? I havent watched TBN in quite a while. I used to.

I dont watch it because it's like going to someone elses church, most of the preachers on there dont flow with the holy spirit, they talk about rules n regulations...it reminds me of reading some of these posts lately. Mostly the really long self righteous ones who intentionaly stir the pot and cause strife. You know who you are.

Blessings =)

Two you can do better than that, when is it good seed to publicly say Jesus did not redeem man from the curse of the law, or that we are not joint heirs with Christ, or we are not our father's children.

The simplicity is this if the wealth of this word is not for God's children as he stated, then by default you are saying it is for the devil and his children.

George when you trodded over:

2Co 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Ch 8 and 9 are specifically dealing with finances and of course you implied otherwise, you can not make it fly that Jesus became poor spiritually, no more than you can the context in which that scripture is found.

That statement is one of many facts revealed to mankind about their redemption and this context of course totally disagrees with your whole post and your motive of exalting yourself again.

To say Jesus did not redeem mankind is no different than saying he was never resurrected, and you can never pull it off that holy spirit told you what you proclaim.

Just as you whole heartedly deny jn 3:2

Jesus loves but to be in fellowship with him, you have to repent of wholeheartedly opposing him.

We love you George.

Alright PJ, tell you what; I have a question for you, it is not a trick question therefore I will expect no trick answer. It is a easy uncomplicated question therefore I will expect a easy uncomplicated answer.

If the Gospel is as you say it should be fairly easy to list some names from the New Testament who embody and exemplify the Gospel as you see it. Two or three names would be great, if that cannot be managed then how about one?

(We are looking for examples of people in the New Testament who were always healthy and weathly by the worlds standards)

I answer that like Jesus tell me those that weren't, and no what Paul went thru does not contradict the word.

Just because Satan trys to steal the truth from believers, does it change the truth.

I know you ask of OJ, but since no one seem to mind to answer when other popst something for another persomn I will give a few names for ya..

The Bible tells us that Zacchaies was very health, he was a tax collector. Joseph of Aiemathea was a wealthy men, and so was the Roman Cebturion, and Cornilus, and Ananias and his wife were wealthy as well... ooops you ask for only two or three but there were serveral wealthy people in the New Testament who followed Jesus, including Luke the physician who wrote the books of Luke and Acts of the Apsotles... of course, my spelling isn;tso hot but I'm sure you can find the correct spellings... and from how the scriptures read Peter who owned his own fishing business, and Matthew were also well off as a tax collector who were Jesus apostles.
