Getting saved is not always easy. My testamony here will tell that story. In November of 1986 I was saved in jesus our lord. Had I known the price I might have flinched and played it safe and not prayed the prayer of salvation to not pay that price. For the next 5 years I was not allowed to go to family meals. Some people in my family mailed me letters saying my church was not of God. Sad but they were Catholic, unsigned letters were also sent.

I reduced to almost nothing for several years as I had to pay for getting saved,

Then God rejoined my inner family with me and brought peace. The only ones I need to be concerned about are my inner family.Parents and brothers.

I have nothing against the Catholic church and will defend them quickly to make a point that I have forgiven them.

When my Grandmother died a few years ago my entire family had to pay for some imaginary offense. When of the letter writers got even and banned us from participation. I was not allowed to carry my Grandmothers casket. It was said that only a few people cared for my grandmother.

This is what forgiveness is all about friends. Not to take offense- but just not to socialize with those false accusers. We as christians must not allow ourselves to be drawn into a trap to lose control of our anger.

Some misunderstand scripture in this matter.

excommuncation is used to prevent you from sinning. ahhhhh

If this is not meant for you move on. if you have unforgiveness in your heart and need to talk about it I am all ears. Email me in private.I take all ages.

recently I have felt called to preach forgivness.

Your caring brother in the Lord, Dennis

Dennis, my reply is not a arguement, I respect your position and the road God has you on. However since this is a "discussion" forum and your post is about forgiveness and scriptural excommunication I feel compelled to reply.

The word 'Forgive' means to "give as before"....beFORe GIVE.

I do not see excommunication used in Scripture except for heresy, willfull arrogant sin and when sin is boasted about. Basically it is a way to remove evil things and people from the Church that are not of the Church or of God. All other so is dealt with within the Church.

If everyone was excommunicated when they sinned there would only be you and I left in the Church....lol!

However with that said, I do agree it is prudent to remove oneself from people and situations that cause one to sin,

@ sparrow:

As you had said this is a discussion forum.

I would like to discuss this from Dennis's testimony,if i won't get into toooo much hot water.

Had I known the price I might have flinched and played it safe and not prayed the prayer of salvation to not pay that price.

Where is this prayer to be saved at found in the Word of GOD.

I find this though.

Ephesians 2:8-10

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Could praying a so called sinners pray,be the avenue which one is saved.

Or is salvation in Christ, and because of Christ.

I am not picking on you Dennis,

I just happen to be curious as to where this tradition started.

The just shall live by his faith.

Habakkuk 2:4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Aloha all
