guitarwings, I'm 57, and have been a Christian over 20 years. I've read Genesis to Revelation more than once.I know the last time, it was through with a study group at church. It took us well over a year at that time. Last year, I had a dream that a man of God whispered in my ear, "Psalms". The dream was very real. After that, I think I read the book of Psalms for a couple of months. I think God leads us all differently as how to study His Word.

Yeah, I've read it from beginning to end before. Sadly, I don't get to read as much during the week as I'd like to. (gotta work)! On the week-end, I try to read a lot. Right now I'm reading the four gospels, and when I finish, I have felt a leading in the Spirit to go back to Genesis. ~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome guitarwings! Thanks for posting!

Like my sister Bornagain I have been a Christian 20+ years and have read Genesis to Revelation many many times. I have read it straight through, and I have cherry picked what I read. I have followed different Bible readings offered by different people/organizations. I like to mix up reading OT and NT. Until I'm done reading the whole thing. The next thing I want to do is find a sequential Bible reading. I have heard you can find them -- read the Bible in sequence. I've always wanted to do that.

It is not important so much how you read or what your prefered version is. What is important ...... is that you read. Every day. Read your Bible every day.

"Have you ever read The Bible straight through from Genesis to Revelation?--from cover to cover?"

Yes! I did that in college, when it was required in two classes. I don't know why I hadn't done it before then! I need to read straight through it again, though...it's been a while since college.

"Do you read certain chapters?"

There are certain books, chapters, and passages that I never get tired of, and I go back and read those frequently.

"Certain topics?"

Not usually, unless I'm doing a study on a particular topic. Otherwise, I just work my way through a passage.

"Favorite quotes?"

Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite verses, but there are way too many other favorites to list here!

I am reading the Bible by the means of a daily readings schedule that takes you through the whole Bible in one year. Of course, I am not done with it and it has also taken longer than a year to get to where I am at. Not even halfway there yet. The schedule starts you out in Genesis, then with each book, it kind of bounces you around to Psalms, then back again. Plus other smaller books are thrown in. It seems like the schedule takes you through it in how it happened and what went along with like when I was reading about King David in one book, in between those scriptures it would take you to Psalms to read that came from him.

I haven't read the Bible all the way through though. Still my first attempt. I have heard that the NT is a lot more positive, being less boring, although I do like all of the stories that come from the OT. I am currently on 2 Chronicles and almost through with that book. When it gets boring, I keep on reading because I know that they will have a story in between that I don't want to miss:) I will keep at it.

Or, maybe I could get that app?? :P
