Women PreachersPosted : 6 May, 2011 04:41 AMLet your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted for them to speak, but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. ~~~~~~~~ And if they will learn anything let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. (1Corinthians 14: 34-35) ____________________________ Why don't these scriptures apply today? Also what does it mean to usurp authority over a man and where's that scripture in the Bible? _____________________________ Do you think women preachers are called by God? |

Women PreachersPosted : 6 May, 2011 06:51 AMBTW, ML, there is no where in the BIbke wherein God has given men authority over women, this is speakign about men being placed in authority of the household and over the church. God exhorts women to obey their OWN husband, and not have authority over them becasue God placed men over the garden which is also symbolic of the church. |

Women PreachersPosted : 6 May, 2011 09:28 AMMisslady, dont let ET chase you away. Just because she has discussed this topic a zillion times before doesnt mean that we cant discuss it again. The whole point of these forums is to get to know each other. How can we do that if we dont talk. |

Women PreachersPosted : 6 May, 2011 10:24 AMThere is perhaps no more hotly debated issue in the church today than the issue of women serving as pastors/preachers. As a result, it is very important to not see this issue as men versus women. There are women who believe women should not serve as pastors and that the Bible places restrictions on the ministry of women, and there are men who believe women can serve as preachers and that there are no restrictions on women in ministry. This is not an issue of chauvinism or discrimination. It is an issue of biblical interpretation. |
