The Warist always quotes Romans 13:1-4 to prove that Christians should **PARTICIPATE** in their governments wars against their enemies and punishment for those who done evil against you. The Warist reading of Romans 12:17-21 immediately followed by Romans 13:1-4, should the two chapters to be read together as a single argument, does not actually provide a warrant for Christian **PARTICIPATION** in the state’s violence. Even if the state is intended to be God’s agent for vengeance (i.e., violent punishment and war), Paul explicitly teaches that Christians are not to be involved in this vengeance in Romans 12:19 below and many Scriptures in this Bible study!
**ROMANS 12:17-21 AND ROMANS 13:1-4 READ TOGETHER**
Romans 12:14,17-21: Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse... Do not repay anyone **EVIL FOR EVIL**. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling what God has instituted and those who do so will be bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God's servants, agents of wrath to bring judgment on the wrong doer.

When you join the military and become a professional killer you must make a **VOW** that you will obey all the commands of your commanding officer. And so if He commands you to drop an Atomic Bomb that will kill about 100,000 civilians including about 25,000 innocent children you must obey this command!!!

What is the OT command concerning *VOWS* and *OATHS*?? Numbers 30:2: Moses said, "This is what the Lord commands: When a man makes a *VOW* to the Lord or takes an *OATH* to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said!"

Matthew 5:33-37: Jesus says, "You have heard that it was said to your people long ago {Numbers 30:2 above}, 'Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.' BUT I tell you, Do not swear at all....Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No, 'No'; anything beyond this comes **FROM THE EVIL ONE**!!"

**LITTLE DAVID** denies that God's saints can earn countless **ETERNAL HEAVENLY REWARDS** for faithful and loving service!!
I get the impression of giddy children eager to visit gramps and gramma for Christmas. But it seems the children’s eagerness is not based on a true love for their grandparents but on the material “rewards” wrapped up under the Christmas tree.
But you might ask where the likewise giddy false prophetic Richard gets his “countless rewards” concept per some of his posts. Here Richard calls it the “many eternal heavenly rewards” theory. Well, for one, Richard wrests portions of scripture from original contexts to create his own false context. But Richard never really explains his theory of “countless rewards”, he just asserts it.
One of the characteristics of a generic false prophet and of the equally false prosperity gospel prophet is their highly exaggerated view of the worthiness of **their** “service. It’s all about **them** and how great **they** are.
