Posted : 11 Nov, 2012 01:11 PM So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Posted : 19 Nov, 2012 05:58 AM Jesus hung out with and attracted some of the "worst of sinners", and the "holiest" men of his time hated him with a passion. All the rest of Jesus' life aside, the very act of his death to save the enemies of God was the ultimate show of his loving-kindness. We sure didn't do anything to deserve that, and we sure weren't living or teaching the truth enough to be acceptable to God. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Cool except this was completely off topic. Michael, I now direct your attention back to the topic.... "So, did I show kindness to my neighbor by respscting his request? or in your opinion should I have shown your type of love by forcing the truth on him?" I stand by my comment about looking at the life of Jesus and Paul because they spoke truth to everyone, regardless of if they wanted to hear or not. Jesus didn't tell people, "Oh okay, I'll just wait to you feel comfortable with what I'm about to tell you". Now that we are back on topic, I hope you can see now that we were not discussing forgiveness. Post Reply
