there weren't any Calvinists or Armenians? Then what would you have to talk about? Is it necessary to debate Theology when the world around us needs Truth? What will Jesus find us doing when he returns? Will we be bickering among ourselves about how many angels can stand on the head of a pin or will we be discipling others in the Truth of the Scriptures and teaching them to be followers of Jesus? I have little or next to no use for Theologians if their theology is all they can talk about. They are no more good than the Pharisees and Sadducees they sound like! How about putting your "mytheology" aside and rolling up your sleeves and getting a little "dirty" digging for Truth instead of scratching the surface for theory?

Well, so far we've learned in class today that Christianity and the truth are not one in the same. Wait a minute! What is going on here?! Christian means a person who follow Christ and His Word. DUH its a religion but that does NOT mean that it contradicts the TRUTH. Do you think you need to believe in Jesus to be saved? Then you follow a religion! That is a DOCTRINE, that is THEOLOGY. You are telling me that I cannot get to God except through Christ. That is a belief, a standard which is your structure for purpose, and morals, and a foundation to why you choose to do or not do anything! That is a religion!

Let's get this straight. You *cannot* be saved, unless you first hold a doctrine of salvation. You must know that Jesus is God, that is theology. The Bible is FULL of theological statements and doctrine. That is why it is the infallible foundation of all our beliefs! It is the foundation of the Christian religion. That is why if something contradicts Scripture, we can know 100% that it is wrong. The Bible is the authority for out beliefs, are you simply going to toss it out because it contains theology and doctrine? You would have to, because the doctrine that teaches that theology is contrary to the truth is a doctrine in direct opposition to the very purpose of Scripture - and that is to teach us about God (theology) and give us the correct doctrine to be saved. This is no small matter.

@SirJames

My apologies for the isms comment, I respect your quest for biblical truth no matter what you may think it is.

My argument is modern bibles and the codexs used to translate them. You may be right, I probably fall inline with the English version 1611 authorized King James Bible only crowd.

Funny though, You presumed Im KJ only and yet consider I want a hyper-sentimental "Santa clause" god, Satan Clause!!! hehehe thats funny!

When will we learn that mean-hearted comments will never "win"?

mean-hearted comments will continue till JESUS comes, T,

cause mean-hearted people are in the Christian world too.

Sad but true.

I thought the 1889 version was considered the Authorized version in America? I may be wrong, it has been a while, but I am pretty sure that is what I was taught.

The AV 1611: Purified seven times

By Dr. Laurence M. Vance

"The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." (Psalm 12:6)

The seven English versions that make the English Bibles up to and including the Authorized Version fit the description in Psalm 12:6 of the words of the Lord being "purified seven times" are Tyndale's, Matthew's, Coverdale's, the Great Bible (printed by Whitechurch), the Geneva Bible, the Bishops' Bible, and the King James Bible.

The Wycliffe, Taverner, and Douay-Rheims Bibles, whatever merits any of them may have, are not part of the purified line God "authorized," of which the King James Authorized Version is God's last one -- purified seven times.

*** Ima in Agreement hereIma stickin to the AV 1611Yall can have the RV 1889 ifin ya want itI read somewhere that a Gal named Ellen White made some changes...

Rev 22:1-20...

18~For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19~And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
