purpose of salvationPosted : 16 Nov, 2012 06:38 AMTo say that God the Father has purposed the salvation of all mankind, that God the Son died with the express intention of saving the whole human race, and that God the Holy Spirit is now seeking to win the world to Christ; when, as a matter of common observation, it is apparent that the great majority of our fellow-men are dying in sin, and passing into a hopeless eternity: is to say that God the Father is disappointed, that God the Son is dissatisfied, and that God the Holy Spirit is defeated. |

purpose of salvationPosted : 25 Nov, 2012 12:57 PMI don't get how you are saying that God elects people but there is also free will. Free will is not taught in scripture. Instead scripture teaches that man makes choices according to his nature. |

purpose of salvationPosted : 25 Nov, 2012 12:58 PM"It is not based on any plan or willingness of man but this does not leave out the will of man for believing Gods plan. Can you see the difference?" |

purpose of salvationPosted : 25 Nov, 2012 01:32 PMYea but God speaks through His word. If you are waiting for some neat little voice or feeling to make you change your mind it will not come. The scriptures also tell us to study the scriptures. What for if the Spirit just provides us with all the little nuggets we need? I mean let's be honest. You really don't have a defense against the scriptures that have been provided. |

purpose of salvationPosted : 25 Nov, 2012 01:40 PMThink what you want. What I am saying that I never feel the need to defend my self. Mant people can make a good argument like you. What you miss is the Spirit of God that dwells in every believer to lead us in all truth. That still small voice that I have learned to hear and trust. |

purpose of salvationPosted : 25 Nov, 2012 02:03 PMNo I trust God. I just happen to believe God is the author of logic and that His word is pretty clear on the matter. In other words, if God's word says it's one way, then the opposite of that way cannot be true. That's logic and there is nothing wrong with logic. |

purpose of salvationPosted : 25 Nov, 2012 02:05 PMIt's not about making a good argument. It's about what are the scriptures teaching :) |
