Faith is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, concept or thing, or a belief that is not based on proof.
How can we have faith if we repeatedly disobey the word of god?
I have heard people talking, about "once in grace always in grace" or so they put it and I really don't understand where this comes from!
Doesn't the Parable of the Prodigal Son give the perfect example of one who has lost faith in the lord?
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ
Isn't the trail of our faith, the way we lead our life born again?
I believe a battle is raging everyday with the enemy. The choices we make build or faith.. And no matter how much faith we think we have everyone could stand for allot more building.
Romans 1: 16-17 �16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, �The just shall live by faith.�
If you are living your life in such a way, that it's obvious that you are a child of God, then you are of the Just. Yes, you might sin and not have time to repent, but God recognizes those who live their lives according to His Word.
Psalm 119:49-50 �This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.�NKJV
�My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.� NIV
Even in the Old Testament, people recognized the fact the God keeps His Promises.
1 John 1:8-9 �8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.�
So to say that we never sinned is a lie. These verses are very clear, when we repent God forgives. God died for us once, not multiple times.
"4. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5. and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6. if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame." Hebrews 6:4-6
So if you believe that you can lose your Salvation, no matter what you do, you will not ever be able to see God, even if you repent before you die. It would be a shame to God, to declare Him not powerful enough to Save you.
If you were saved and you were to die, and did not repent of the last sins, yes, you will go to Heaven, because you are living a life of the Just (meaning you have accepted Christ as your Savior) . Because, once we die, we are no longer living the life of the flesh, but have become Spirit. And in our death we are made perfect.
Period! if we do not fallow his commandments we don't know him.. IE fell away from him.
so by your thinking.. I can repent of the sins I am born in to.. Then do as I please? living in the lusts of the world? because the sins I was going to commit when I repent from the sins I was born into are already forgiven??

It is not a matter of Jesus dying again Georg it is a matter of what Jesus said on the topic and man's responsibility to his covenant.
1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
The same way men are saved is the same way they can depart.

Ok, Fisher I must step in to agree with what you said about repenting, and then returning back to the same sins over and over again..
James says this: The person who knows TO DO GOOD (RIGHT) and DOES NOT DO IT, TO THIS PERSON IT IS SIN. James chapter 4

The author of Hebrews say this: For if we sin willfully AFTER WE HAVE RECEIVED THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, there NO LONGER REMAINS A SACRIFCE FOR SIN, BUT A CERTAIN FEARFUL EXPECTATION OF JUDGMENT, and firery indignation which will devour the asversaries.. ANYONE who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much WORSE PUNISHMENT, DO YOU SUPPOSE WILL BE THUGHT WORTHY FOR THOSE WHO TRAMBLED THE SON OF GOD UNDERFOOT, counted the blood of the covenant by which he/she was sanctified a common thing, and INSULTED THE SPIRIT OF GRACE? Maybe someone can explain this away to mean soemthing that God isn't saying...
