Listen to today's typical gospel presentation. You will hear sinners entreated with such phrases as "accept Jesus as personal savior"; "ask Jesus into your heart"; "invite Christ into your life"; or "make a decision for Christ" You may be accustomed to hearing those phrases that it will surprise you to learn that none of them is based on biblical terminology. They are the products of a diluted, watered down gospel. It is not the Gospel according to Jesus.

The Gospel Jesus proclaimed was a call to discipleship, a call to follow Him in submissive obedience, not just a plea to make a decision or pray a prayer.

Must a person make Christ Lord as a condition for salvation?

Scriptures never speak of anyone "making" Christ Lord except God Himself, who has made Him both Lord and Christ" Acts 2:36. He "IS" Lord over all, Rom 14:9; Phil 2:11 and the bible mandate is not to "make" Christ Lord but rather bow to His lordship. Those that reject His lordship or give mere lip service to His sovereignty are not saved, 1 Cor 12:3; Luke 6:46-49.

All who believe the Word of God will agree that Jesus is LORD. He is ever and always LORD, whether or not anyone acknowledges His lordship or surrenders to His authority.

I recently read through the OT and really noticed this time around it was always God doing the accepting of man's repentance, man's sacrifice, etc. God never asked or waited for any man to accept Him. So why do people say "accepting Jesus" is how we are saved? My bible says, repent, trust and believe.

No, I won't share all the passages I'm talking about. I think you need to find these things yourself. I found them and I really enjoyed the trip. Besides finding truths in Scripture makes it more a part of what you really believe rather than what you believe because you read it somewhere or someone told you about it. That's most of the reasons most Christians will tell you something is in the Bible but they never actually read it or studied it.

About OT and NT, Luke16:16. And, I dun think sharing to others could be considered as a wrong action, even Paul mentioned his opinion in the NT.

Blessings =)

I am almost finished reading throught the OT again and unless you are smashing an idea into the text, which we ALL have been quilty of at one time or another, I have not seen it and I would think that would be a popular study that would have been preached on a couple of thousand times. Give a hint if it really is there.

Jude Replies ~ I understand We all must Seek and We Shall find...Being lead by the Spirit in All things is most important...We All receive by Hearing the Word and also Studying it...

If a Brother or Sister Wondered and Asked where I found something in The WORD and Where to find it so that they may be Directed by the Spirit to Seek and Learn...I believe It is MY Responsibility as a Child of GOD to Share the Good News...For me to Withhold such...is...well...Withholding Jesus*s Helper the Holy Spirit to Work Wonders in a Person and their Life...Just my 2 bits...xo

Well Mr Row as I ask Show me scriptures where the bible tells anyone to repent of Sin, those scriptures do not speak of repenting of sin, they speak of repenting.

Do you know what the bible tells Christians their ministry to the lost is?

Sin is not man's problem as so many would like people to believe, man's problem is that his spirit is alive unto Satan and not God.

What does repent mean? What are "sinners" repenting of?

The Bible teaches man's problem is death!

Why am I waisting my time talking to a brick. :goofball:

OK I'll find the passage about Jesus volunteering to go. Most of my library is still packed in the basement but I will look for it and when I find it I'll start another thread with it so it won't get lost in this one. Fair enough?
