Ok! Here's something I'd like to talk about some more...for a couple reasons. First reason! It's what I believe. Second reason! I would like it tested by the bible warriors on here. This is the bible battleground after all, why not put my beliefs to the test? I could be wrong, and if I am I'd really like to know.
Here's the scriptures I believe support my belief that when people die, they are in an unconscious state until the second coming of Christ. I honestly don't know absolutely, but it seems like the weight of scripture at least supports an unconscious state after death until the second return of Christ. There are some in heaven, like Enoch, Elijah, and Moses are the only ones I know of for sure. There were many resurrected at the resurrection of Jesus. But I believe as a whole...most of God's followers and all the wicked are resting in the grave until the judgment. So if its ok, I'd like to see the scriptures that contradict my views and support your views...because honestly, I could just be searching the bible for what I want to see.

Well...I tried to explain my problem with your belief...it's not pride, never has been. Same with predestination. I have never believed in either of those, but like I said, when I was old enough to notice....I saw many people losing their faith because of those beliefs. Now...according to mine, they would never have lost their faith....they would see God as the completely fair and just God that created us with free wil(I believe that's who He is). The argument is not fruitless, because I can think of at least 10 people I know that would still be Christians and "saved" if it wasn't for your beliefs. How's that for fruitless? 10 souls that have possibly been lost....and those are just the ones I know. It's not pride, it's frustration. I would be willing to bet that if your beliefs were completely true to God's character that they would not be causing so many people to shun Him. You will know them by their fruits, yes? I'm going to stop talking now...starting to get rude...but we are supposed to be saving souls, not driving them away. Anyway...I know you don't really understand this because you don't believe the way I do...so...I guess instead of it being fruitless...it's pointless. I would think that since its kinda our job on this planet to witness to and save other souls...that you would actually want to get away from these beliefs...ok...now I'm getting rude AND ranting:laugh:. Later dudes...and please don't try to pin pride on me concerning this...judging motives is not something humans can handle very well.
I am sorry if you thought I meant you in particular with the pride thing. I was referring to all of us. It is human nature to have to battle pride, and it is one of the biggest problems with teaching someone something new. I was speaking generally.
I really don't see how believing that we go to be with the Father instantly would cause someone to lose their faith. To me, it would appear that the opposite would be true.
I believe, if you can turn your back on God that easily, you were not saved to begin with. A saved person has such love and reverence for the Father that you can not force them from Him. And I know a lot more than 10 people who love God that much.
Please explain to us how such a simple thing as this could turn people from God. It really doesn't make any sense to me.

dear folks,,, i been a little under the weather the last couple days.. so i aint been on as much as id like to ..
both sides have presented alot of good scriptures so far..
i think i understand where hitman is coming from...i believe he doesnt like to think of anyone we loved or love to be suffering who has gone on and we believe was not saved and died lost.. he just has a good heart ..
ive got alot of folks i loved that have passed on too that i believe probably died lost.. and it pains me to no end that this happened.. and i spect all of us have had that happen.. so everyone basically has a good heart for those they love..
i tell you how i believe you can know if you have a great heart ,, is when you feel those same pangs for strangers and for your enemies as well..
thats why its so important to be a living testimony and tell others the gospel ,tell them how they too can become saved. and pray so hard for them that are lost.. cause tomorrow may just be too late..
I was only looking at the other side of it because I don't believe they go straight to hell. I believe they await judgment day in Abraham's bosom. I also think they get a chance during the trib, before the White throne judgment.
Thanks Cattle...I just think it misrepresents God...thats all...but I guess there are a lot more varied beliefs about it out there then I thought. I suppose I just connected it all to "the unsaved go right to hell forever, and the saved go right to heaven"...because in my view...that goes against a lot of stuff...and really doesn't make much sense at all. It would mean both the saved and the unsaved live forever. It would mean that we get our reward when we die instead of getting it when Jesus comes. It would mean that the "dead know something", it would mean God isn't fair when it comes to judgment, it would mean God is kinda cruel and unusual...and all kinds of other stuff that makes no sense in my tired little mind:dunce:. But like I said...the beliefs seem to be a lot more varied than that...so...keep the faith!
And yeah, the "go right to heaven" thing is directly connected to "go right to hell" in most people's minds(including mine:laugh:). And I always see people using it against Christians...saying God is cruel and unfair and causing people to dislike God...when it's not what I believe the bible says. Makes me sad.
lol...no cattle...actually I didn't lose any Aunts...I guess I was thinking in future tense:dunce:. The only relatives I've lost were my Grandparents...even though I have about a billion Aunts and Uncles...pretty sure they're invincible though.
Most of the people I'm worried about aren't dead yet...but right now they're done giving God a chance. Maybe they'll come around. I try not to worry about the people that have died...only God knows their fate, and it's not my place to judge.
